While at my local store today I was shown the three expressions of Four Roses (no 120 anniv.). They said they just got a case of each. I thought it was only available in KY and stores near the state line.

Yes, it just arrived. I just got notice that the small K&L chain will be carrying single barrel, small batch and yellow label.

From what I understand by the end of the year Four Roses was to be in 15 new states.
Looks like Cali is in the Roses now, and they have something good to drink on News Years Day. (could not resist the Rose Bowl game reference, GO BIG TEN!!!)

Is there a list somewhere?

Is there a list somewhere?

Not that I am aware of.
But I do hope MI is one of the 15 new states.

Grab some, SippinJim. For what it's worth, the Single Barrel IMO is outstanding. One of my faves. Fortunately it's been available in New Jersey for a while and I always have one on hand. Costs around $38 here. The Yellow Label is also good and makes for a nice regular pour given its low price. For whatever reason, I don't care for the Small Batch as much although a lot of people here seem to rave about it.

From the press release:

Four Roses is now available in Kentucky, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Tennessee, Colorado and California and will continue expansion in other U.S. markets throughout 2008.

I count seven, yet Jim Rutledge told me not long ago they expected to be in half the states by the end of this year. They're doing the biggest states first, although why Colorado? If they're adding states more slowly than they expected to, that means they're exceeding their expectations.

I will begin my search ASAP. Last year it was Buffalo Trace finding its way out here, now Four Roses. I would say that it is about time.

gotta say the small batch is pretty good, too.

Because they knew I was thirsty?

Well I have it from Mr. Rutledge himself that Wisconsin will be mellow this fall. I also believe that it will be coming to Minnesota as well. I'm really looking forward to having some SB and 1B(no more chasing to chicago to get it) as well as some of the Special Small batch marriage that is supposed to come out in the fall. doubt I will see any 120 barrel proof though. Good times ahead for us Four Roses fans.

I'll bet Arkansas is the 50th State to get it! (Unless we grant statehood to Puerto Rico, then it'll be the 51st!)

I'll take that bet, since I think it will be Oregon.

I was at the Four Roses distillery last Saturday and the young man giving the description of their distillation process had a list of states that were to get Four Roses this year. I am from PA and he said we were on the list for this Fall. It appeared to be about 20 states on the list, so I know there is a list of prospective states to receive this wonderful product. Also picked up a bottle of the 120th Anniversary from the gift shop.

I'm with you B1, I have tried two different bottles and am not a fan of it.
FR is putting out a special Small Batch bottle this Fall called "Mariage", that is French for marriage.
I'll try a couple of those.
