View Full Version : 2008 Antique Collection Is Out.
I just got the press release announcing the 2008 Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, so let the scramble to obtain these prized rarities begin. For the complete run down, go here (http://chuckcowdery.blogspot.com/2008/10/2008-buffalo-trace-antique-collection.html).
So when do you think they will hit the store shelves?

I asked two different people (on different visits) at the Hurstbourne Liquor Barn and neither would let me reserve bottles this year. Maybe last year's was too much of a pain. Too bad for them. Old Town, maybe?

Businesses just will not do customer service any more, then they go out of business. Then they stand around scratching their head going how come we went out of business, Duh?
Did you try asking the people at the Fern Valley Liquor Barn about the BTAC? I stopped at all 3 last April on my way to the sampler and found the best service at Fern Valley. It may not be the biggest of their 3 stores in Louisville, but it is my favorite one to visit!

I just noticed on John Hansell's blog that the Antique Collection should be available at the end of October. I haven't confirmed, but I thought the Eagle Rare and Sazerac 18 are usually the same ABV every year. Maybe someone else can confirm. Here are the other three ABV's for 2008.
George T. Stagg - 141.8
William Larue Weller - 125.3
Thomas H. Handy - 127.5
Here's the link with the information he received from Buffalo Trace.

If you have a BevMo in your area, they will hold for you if you are a member. The Tucson one is willing to hold a set or two for me (Stagg and Weller for me).
If you have trouble getting them, let me know, I will hook a SB.com member up.
William Larue Weller
"William Larue Weller is the Antique Collection’s uncut, unfiltered, wheat recipe bourbon. The barrels were aged 11 years and two months on the ninth floor of Warehouse I. This William Larue Weller release registers at 125.3 proof. It tastes of dried fruit sweetness, soft vanilla and cinnamon spices."
11 years?!? Wow.
All this time, I thought WLW was just a cask-proof version of the regular 7-yo...

Soooooo....
How is an eleven year old Weller part of the "antique" collection when everyday Weller 12 is not?
At least it's slightly more "antique" than last year's ten year old.
At least it's slightly more "antique" than last year's ten year old.
Too bad the THH isn't any older, same as last year, 6 years and 5 months. (I'm still looking forward to it but I wish it lived up to the name of it's collection more...)

Sorry...I'm new to the site, and I didn't check all the different forum subjects which might seem why my post was a little out of order. Thanks Chuck for putting this up.
I hope to taste these new versions at WhiskyFest in San Francisco.

I think the fact that it is uncut and unfiltered might have something to do with that. This follows in the vein of George T. Stagg and Thomas H. Handy.
Besides, depending on the specific barrels, these 11-year-old Wellers might display more maturity than the regular 12-year Weller, or even the Van Winkle 15. Age and maturity do not always go hand-in-hand. As this is a "halo" product for Sazerac, I would think that maturity and flavor profile were their primary concerns in selecting the barrels.

I thought it was "antique" in style, not so much in product years... or it might just be their gimich... either way I will be buying some :D

Yeah, but that's what the Sazerac 18 pretty much accomplishes.
Besides, I believe 6 years is a good age for a rye, which tends to mature pretty quickly. My only complaint is being charged $50 a bottle for what is essentially cask-strength version of a $25 per bottle whiskey. For that price, a few more years in the cask might be in order.
It would be nice to see an extra-aged (18-21 years) wheater released under the Weller name in the Antique Collection, but I doubt it will happen, as it might cannibalize sales from the Van Winkle Family Reserve.
Thomas H. Handy is my favorite American whiskey. Rye, Bourbon, whatever. With its high proof and sweet-and-spicy taste, nothing makes a better Winter warmer.

Originally the "Antique Collection" was made up of only very old whiskies, 17, 18 and 19yo..Stagg was added at 15yo...now we have these, quite young bottlings being done at barrel proof

And, I suspect, that it is because of the shortage of aged stock.

That is a good point about the THH vs Saz18, as I just realized even the original release of this wasn't very old (8 years and 5 months) in the first place so maybe they were going for something like you suggest. The main reason for my comment is just the fact that they call this the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection which, to me, implies that all of the bottlings should be fairly old and I don't consider 6 years 5 months to be all that old. I do agree that a few more years in the barrel would be in order. (Mainly because I'll take all the years in the barrel I can get!) So long as it tastes good I guess there is really nothing to complain about though.
BTAC... it's like xmas in Oct/Nov! :]

In this instance, I'd take ,"antique" to mean limited and collectible.
There is an extent, especially with the introduction of the Handy, to which "Antique" is part of a brand name, and not necessarily intended to be taken literally, either as "old" or as in an earlier style. I think, despite the name, what the brand simply stands for is very limited edition products, always with some enthusiast-preferred characteristics (age, proof, unfiltered), but not necessarily all of them, with a certain consistent presentation, and at a certain consistent price point.
To me, the best thing about the BTAC is that they made it just for us.

Maybe "antique" refers to the prices that we have to charge for them? My gosh, I've already been tipped off by my supplier that the prices he's expecting to have to charge me this year are WAY up from last year, not that I'm terribly surprised, but still.
Is the Saz18 from the same batch as the last few years?

No not another distillery, it is the same distillery but it has changed ownership hands and name changes over the years and decades and going back to other centuries actually.

Wikipedia has a somewhat incomplete history, but states that distilling on that site started in 1773 and dates the oldest standing building on the BT site to 1792. The article says that the actual distillery we know today was built by Harrison Blanton in 1812.
Where these facts come from is anyone's guess; Mike Veach may have enough information to clear up any guesses. He usually does. :)

yeah I'd give 51 bucks real fast for the worst bottle of Stagg.
None in the PA system as of yet but it won't be long.

They were already $60 here last year. If there's a major price hike, I'll have to go to eating generic oatmeal twice a day to afford my Thomas H. Handy habit.
Which is worth it, but still.

Crap. That means I'm probably looking at the $70's here. That's just not right. Will have to shop around this year.
When I was on vacation in Florida in July, I saw ER17 stray from 07 for 53.99 at an ABC liquor store in St. Petersburg. Last year I also saw 3 bottles of Stagg at a store near St. Pete Beach. I think these ran around 59.00!

That sounds about normal. I think I paid right around that for my Stagg last year from the shop just down from work (same business park). But I got her to bring it in specifically for me and I didn't have to go searching for it so I was willing to pay a little more.

As per the review and the comments, it looks like the price went up. :[ He says he was "told $65" but doesn't specify who told him this, I'm assuming someone from BT but for all I know... Last year the highest I saw these bottles for was $60 (in a store anyway...), how much did those who already got some of this years pay? Just wondering.

BTAC ranges from 59 and change to 61 each in Ohio depending on the local tax rate, though the entire allocation is already spoken for.

Any idea if this is going to hit san diego before Halloween? I'm headed to Portland that day and my buddy's up there love the BTAC. So either in SD before the 31st or the weekend of Nov 1 in Portland? And where to find bourbon in Portland?

From what I recall it was typically more like mid November when it made it to the west coast. I usually was able to bring one up at Thanksgiving time.
I've been wondering too. I'm sure it will be a hunt as I've only spotted a few older bottles around town. I very well could be looking in all the wrong places though.
I called a few places trying to see if they could order me a bottle or two but they were just annoyed that someone would call a liquor store and nobody knew what I spoke of.
I will start looking around in November I guess.

I picked up 4 of the 5 (didn't get the WLW) for $64/bottle at Capital Cellars in Frankfort last week. I picked up the WLW this week at Red Dot (the smaller store close to the BT distillery) for $61 this week.
Since I can't get them at all in Atlanta I was lucky to be in the area for business and picked them all up. We got into the Stagg and Sazerac this past weekend and they were great. We'll be geetting into the others this weekend.

Bourbon is not a popular drink in SD. Most people will have no idea and it can be hard to find the Pappy's etc... There are a few places to check out, Holiday Wine Celler being #1. Bevmo doesn't get much and it goes very fast, but you can call them. The smaller liquer stores...it's a total crapshoot. Most of the time they will say "Yes we can order anything you want" but BTAC is such limited quantities they can't.
Yay!! The BTAC finally hit at HiTime today. I picked up some WLW, ER, and Stagg...
I haven't had the pleasure before, so I'm absolutely giddy at the prospect of trying the Stagg. I hope it lives up to the hype.
Yippee!!!!!
Picked up my bottle of stagg today... Along with 5 other guys from work. It will be my first bottle. I had a taste of the 2007 and it was really smooth.
We might actually be getting some of these here in NH. The NH Liquor Commission lists them on their website but so far has not listed any as "in stock." The website is not very reliable so maybe a phone call or two is in order.
What are you guys liking from this year's release? I have not tried any of them yet, so a recommendation would be most welcome.
Cheers!
They didn't appear on the shelves in NH until January last year and were gone within a week. Looks like the price might have only gone up a dollar, which is a relief.

I've tried the Stagg, Sazerac, and Weller so far and all are good. Despite the high proof I found the Weller to be incredibly smooth with little burn. The Stagg and Sazerac will kick your butt with their spicyness (sic?) but they are so yummy.
I was hoping to bring a bottle of Big Saz w/ me to Portland today, but instead I had to 'settle' for Pappy 20. This'll be my first tasting of this beast. I love Lot B and 15yr so I'm VERY much looking forward to the 20.
$83/bottle as well. Another store I saw it at $130.

While at work today, I got a call on my mobile phone with a Columbus, Ohio area code. My initial thought was that it was some last minute political call, then it dawned on me that the Ohio DLC was calling me about my BTAC order through the state.
The caller told me that my BTAC order was in the local warehouse and, unless they miss the truck, the bottles will be at the store of my choice on Thursday. Woot!
I was successful in getting Ohio's Stagg allocation tripled from last year (nine bottles vs three last year) and I also got them to allocate a case of Sazerac 18.
Next year, I'm shooting for getting enough of the entire collection so that they can stock some stores with it.

Last year I was able to also get some W. L. Weller and Sazarac 18y from Bevmo, when I picked up my stock pile of '07 Stagg.
This year I will pass on the Eagle Rare and Sazarac 18y, which are still available at Bevmo in my area.
In the past I didnt find these quite worth the asking price. I do like Baby Saz more when factoring in the price of his older brother (Although, baby Saz has been harder to find in my area lately).

The BTAC's not in Denver yet, either, if that makes you feel any better. I have an email in to my usual source regarding the arrival date, but I haven't gotten a reply.

Was at Binny's in Schaumburg. They had a mix of 2007 and 2008 BTAC. They were receiving a shipment when I was at the St. Charles store. Three bottles of all but GTS IIRC. Was at Everett's in South Beloit Sunday, and Matt said they were supposed to be getting theirs by the end of the week. Joe
How does the BTAC Weller compare to the WLW12 or some of the VanWinkle wheaters? I am looking to spend a bit more on a high quality bourbon (WL Weller 12 is my current favorite) and I trying to decide where to spend the money.

I got the 2007 WLW after talking to a couple of other SB members. I'm glad I did. It is a great bourbon. I thought I was in heaven when I got to try (and then got to buy) some ER 101 while at the KBF. To me the WLW is just as good, if not better. I liked it so much that I bought another bottle the next day. It's not too often that I spend $60 on a bottle of bourbon. I didn't hesitate going back and getting another. I don't know how the 2008 bottling compares with the 2007, but IMHO, you won't be disappointed with the 2007. If you are, I'll gladly get rid of it for you. Joe

I will agree with Joe, you can not go wrong with the WLW! From tasting them both myself I do like the 2008 better than the 2007. If you can get this years release I say do it. If it's last years you still can not go wrong.
Hope you enjoy whatever you decide!

Tim, I think you made the right choice on the 3 you selected, they will be the most changed from last years bottlings.
Hope you enjoy them.

My BTAC bottles also arrived today! :] I haven't opened anything yet but I did get to try the '08 Saz18 last night. It wasn't bad but in my opinion it's not as good as last years, this years was too piney tasting to me with no green apples to balance it out. Not really bad by any means but I guess it didn't hold up in the tank as well as they thought it would.
It's BTAC Day!
WLW x 3
Handy x 2
Stagg x 2
I ran into the distributor and he was quite impressed with my cart. He also let me know that the 8 bottle BTEC allotment for Colorado is "gone," so don't hold your breath for those, BourbonCO brethren.

UPS guy delivered the BTAC today. A 3, 2, 1 six pack of WLW, Handy & ER17, respectively. Based on everyone's comments, I'm passing on the Saz 18 this year. Bevmo Laguna Niguel still has the 2 GTS bottles I left if you're in the area.

I had the 07 Stagg and loved it. I think I made a good choice.

Yeah you definitley got the correct 3.
I've tasted them, the Stagg is the best in a few years.
WLW is great, some say better than last year but I don't think so.
The Handy is in a class by itself, it is extraordinary.
Very elegant, lots of flavors, so easy to drink neat, you'll be rechecking the label for the proof.

Did the price go up this year? I'm out of town for a few days, not sure if I'd be able to find any still avaliable when I get back or not but I'm not going to go out of my way if they took a price hike...

I did go into a store wit a large allocation and the Rep must have told him he was sitting on gold because he's $10 over the state min and he would not move on the price..yet.

I was at a couple of the Binnys in Chicago last weekend. They had their 2007 BTAC for $59.99. One store had a couple of the 2008 bottlings. Another had just got their shipment in, and the manager was putting it in the case when I was there. Their price for the 2008 was $65.99. I might give a call to Everett's and see how much their 2008 is. Their 2007 was the same price as Binny's. Joe

It looks like the Atlanta area is now in the loop for the good stuff. The three basic Four Roses appeared in early Fall in several stores and now the BTAC and Van Winkles are showing up. I just left Sherlock's Town Center location and they had WLW at $63. Stagg and Saz had sold out; no Handy or ER17 ,but they had Saz Jr and ER10. Also on the shelves were PVW 12,15,20 and 23; ORVW 10 in the 90 and 107 proofs. Prices ran fairly high on all of the Van Winkles. The Four Roses prices were in line with Ky and Tn prices.

The VW's were $48 for the 12, $69 for the 15, $100 for the 20, $300 for the 23. The 10 yr ORVW's were $39 for the 90 proof and $44 for the 107.

Yeah , I picked up a couple, and I noticed you had cleaned them out of your favorites, Old Whiskey River, Jim Beam White and Ten High.
Just picked up one of each bottlings from my local in Addison, TX. What was unusual was the Saz 18 was $56 but the ER17 and others were $60-61.

In AA this is the store than most reliable has the state minimum as their price.
I picked up from a local store, 3 out 9 bottles of Stagg allocated to the state of Ohio. If anyone in here wants a bottle, PM me, I'll sell them for my cost plus shipping. Many here on SB have posted about Spec's Liquor Stores in Houston TX. They recently received the "Retailer of the Year" award from Wine Enthusiast and do run a great operation, particularly at their downtown store. When Gus posted the Antiques were in at Spec's, I went down to make my purchases. This year they are keeping W Larue, Handy, ER 17 and Saz 18 in the glass case and are hiding Stagg out of sight completely.....you have to ask for it. Only one bottle of each per person per visit thru Christmas more or less. Pappy 20 and 23 are in the glass case too. The rest of the Van Winkles are hiding in the back with the Stagg. Again, one bottle of each per visit. They get so little of these and have such a high demand from regular customers they don't even bother giving them shelf space.....you have to know the secret handshake and you get your bottle! BTW, the Antiques are priced between $53 and $58.

For everyone that has already purchased and sampled this years BTAC....congratulations. I just received word that VA will be getting their allotment sometime this week.
Unfortunately, the arrival of the Saz 18 will consist of only 10 bottles for the whole state....according to an ABC source. :smiley_acbt:
I have an order for a case of each with VA and DC so we'll see what happens. As a back stop....I have a friend who has purchased 7 sets and will pass one on to me if I can't find any.
Now to publicly state how sad my bourbon drinking has been of late....I still have the '07 BTAC sitting on my shelf...unopened with the exception of the Saz18....which I like very much.

William Larue Weller Straight Bourbon Whiskey Barrel Proof (http://store.yahoo.com/randalls/rws32339.html) 6 Bottles

Paul, I understand your thoughts and yes I was only trying to help out fellow members.
The thing is with this site being free to all of us we also need to play by some rules. If said vendor were going to give a kickback to this site for letting our community know they have a good deal on a special release that might be different.
I hope you understand the reasoning for the deleted post. It was not to keep the members here from finding this stuff. Just not the place to advertise it.
I too would like you notes on the new WLW 2008 release. I find it very good and have put it up against the 2006 release. They are my 2 favorite releases with a slight advantage going to the 2006.
Thanks,
Tony
That WLW 2008 is some good stuff. I've never had it up till now so I can't compare it to older versions but it's definitely different from other bourbons. I'm also liking the Thomas H Handy even though I'm not a fan of rye whiskey.

First of all I do not believe I chastized anyone. And I don't feel the need to reveal anything as to the execution of this process but will tell you I PM'd Tony to inform him that he was correct in his first assumption that it was not OK to do. I also told him, and will put here now publicly for anyone else to understand and use as a guideline, in the future to state you found bottles X, y, z, at a good price and to PM (private message) for details. We cannot have any retailer or other commercial entity thinking it is ok to post their sales here, we call that spam and we work very hard to prevent it for the greater good of everyone.
I hope this helps you feel better about and understand our methods and continue using and enjoying the site.
Here is a section of the rules of use that everyone agreed to upon creating his or her account:
"Please note that advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are inappropriate on this web site and will not be tolerated. Commercial interests are prohibited from posting here except when prior arrangements have been made with Straightbourbon.com management. The sale of alcoholic beverages by any party is prohibited here, and we do not consider the contents of a "collectible" bottling to be "incidental." Furthermore, topics that are escalating into "flame wars" will be edited, locked, or deleted at the moderators' discretion. You may not participate in our forums if you are less than legal drinking age. Federal law prohibits you from accessing this web site."

Picked up Handy for $65 today at Post Wines.
Slob, I'm glad to see you picked up a bottle of Handy! Enjoy!
When I first got involved in this site, I made one posting about a bourbon that I found at a certain price, and asked whether it was a good deal and worth buying. Apparently it was a great deal, and I was flooded with PM requests. I asked some senior members (sorry about the use of the word senior) for advice, and they advised I avoid getting into the illegal business of selling bourbon, and I followed that advice.
I would guess that Brothers who want to help Brothers can do so outside of this site. While not something I would ever get entangled in, of course others can take any risk they want. However, it should not touch this site.
I do sympathize with those who cannot easily get to Kentucky or other limited markets where gems such as the Antique Collection are sold.
My recommended solution would be to drive to Cincinnati for a holiday shortly after the Antique Collection is released. Enjoy some Cincinnati-style chili, some Graeter's Ice Cream, the Taft Art Museum, the Cincinnati Zoo, etc. etc., and drive across the Ohio River to northern Kentucky and visit some great liquor stores (Party Source, Party Town, Cork n' Bottle, to name a few). Fill your trunk and have a great time while doing it.

I'd like to know as well as I might have a hot line on a really good price for PVW 23 that I'll share with you folks if it pans out.
So where is the line here? If a member points to a particular site or outlet that's ok, but posting a url is over the boundary?
I'm not challenging the concept, just seeking some clarification.
Craig
I believe you'll find the answer is that, when in doubt, ask a mod via pm.
Here (http://www.straightbourbon.com/forum_rules.html) in the Forum Rules it is stated:
Please note that advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are inappropriate on this web site and will not be tolerated.Commercial interests are prohibited from posting here except when prior arrangements have been made with Straightbourbon.com management.
Seems fairly clear to me that the discretion is with management. It's not so much about 'right' and 'wrong' but to show respect and get clearance when you're in the grey zone.
Send the mods or the Boss a message when you're not sure - get to know them and treat them as your friends. And if they're not the type whom you want to be your friends, then why would you want be here in the first place?

I didn't see the original message, so I can't say if the message was in the commercial interest. It wasn't too hard to figure out which site was being mentioned. We talk all the time about when we find new releases at our local stores, chains or favorite websites, I'm not sure why this one was different, but I'll defer to the powers-that-be.
In other news, Happy Repeal Day!

but the price is so good in AZ $46-48
I paid $54.99 apiece for the WLW.
I bought a bottle of George T Stagg last week in Jackson, MS, for $51.
NYS is keeping with the ~$54/btl price point.
-and there was plenty more post in this price range...
WOW! I wish I lived farther away... for what I bought/spent... I would own an extra 5 bottles from the collection! :hot: Your business owners are not near the uppity smiling greedy thieves like the ones in Nashville TN are! We pay $75 a bottle minimum, $80-$85 in all but that place! :hot:
The bourbon is great, amazing really, each one on its own merits! (Stagg is what got me drinking bourbon) It is a shame to be taken such advantage of just for liking their bourbon and living here, 211 miles from the distillery. No shipping any alcohol to/in TN, lucky for these greedy store owners. If I would have known I was being taken for a 50+% price increase per bottle for nothing other than greed, I would have driven to the distillery or Louisville and shopped there. Gas and an extra 4 bottles with a nice trip thrown in... :smiley_acbt: I should have checked the net 1st, but a friend let me try some Stagg for the 1st time and I loved the stuff... limited he said, so get it now or it will be gone... so I did... along with the WLWeller, THHandy, & EagleRare17. I was in love with each bottle for its own character and grandeur...
...Now I am bitter and will not buy any of this collection in the state again... even if I have to do without... for the simple fact I do not want to, and will not, promote nor encourage this type of retail price gouging thievery. I understand money is just money, but damn principle... I can not seem to swallow it easily or tastefully when I could have more bottles of one-of-a-kind bourbon to drink!!! Maybe they should start distilling 'principle' in Buffalo Trace for us TN. bourbon lovers? It would have to taste decent... :skep:
I second this statement:
"It’s $80-$85 a bottle in Nashville TN. area. All the shops price gouge terribly on the whole BTAC, and more. They would rather make extra $ with un-ethical and low ball price gouging tactics, effectively stealing from their ‘valued’ customers, as work harder to make year end profits the same. They would rather swindle the $ from their customers pocket and say that extra charge is because they ‘do it with a smile’ and ‘because we can’ were the excuses I heard… just thieves without a conscious and therefore an inability to be ethical."

i am wondering why we, in PA, are just NOW getting the BTAC in stores now....my local has only the Stagg (later than usual)...13 miles away, the other bottlings were on the shelf (except Stagg).
i think we are getting decent prices...Stagg and Handy Saz at $53.99.
just got the 6 year old Saz....it is really nice. sweeter and less spicey than i would've imagined.
i will HAVE to go and get that Handy Saz...proof is in the 120s

Yes, you must, but be very very careful... the Handy is purely addictive I've found. I love the Pappy 13yr Rye private selection, but the Handy is purely delicious and with more rye spice! It even drinks fine straight at 127.5proof, with not as much heat as expected, although a few drips of water opens it up and gives dimension to the texture imho.
Not to knock the Pappy13yr Rye at all, its smoothness and structure with great balance is outstanding and only $55-btl here.
I've tried several waters so far, and if you have it around, the Ty Nant water goes great with all the BTAC barrel proof's. Nice palate cleansing water too between tastings. The Kroger market has it here.

thanks!
i was already impressed with the one Van Winkle i've had (12 years reserve), but then, at almost half the price, i prefer the baby Saz i just got today!
now it comes to the Handy....will make that leap tomorrow. i am excited. my wife, well....
anyways, Ty Nant...isn't that from Wales? it's excellent in both the bubbly and not-bubbly versions. nice bottles, too!

I saw all four of the antique bottles at the New Hampshire Liquor Store for $47.99 each.

Wish I could've but I was on a mission for Van Winkles and 4Roses and could not be distracted.
Finally picked up 2 each of the Handy Saz & ER17 this week....trying the Handy Saz right now and WOW! This stuff is so smooth and rich, there are so many flavors in there that keep unfolding that I couldn't begin to recognize all of them. I can't believe how high the proof is compared to how easy it drinks...with a little water it is velvety, sweet & silky.
I finally got around to getting Saz and Handy, $88/ea. Bummer. Same store also has ER and Stagg...but they'll have to wait at these prices. I know of other places to hunt for Stagg and ER so hopefully they'll come out cheaper.
First time I've bought bourbon in forever. Shared a tasting with a few of my beer buddies, they thought this was awesome. Asked what a comparable beer would be, I said, "This is the Westy 12 of the bourbon world."
Here in St. Louis I am still finding the Handy and the Weller at $48 per bottle.
Can somebody explain how distributors work? Or is quantum tunneling involved?

I recently found a few bottles of '08 Stagg, and got really excited...until I saw the price. The cheapest I've seen is $75, on up to $140 (!). I doubt the latter will ever sell out...
Hope I can get a better deal when the '09 is released...
I think the Fall 2008 Eagle Rare blows the doors of the GTS08 or the Saz08. I didnt understand why everyone was so excited by this BTAC thing until I popped open the ER17.

I wouldnt sell you my ER17 if you offered me $200 for it. Granted, I am in Japan so it would be almost impossible for me to get another one, but there you have it. I guess I am as big a jerk as that guy.

In theory it's possible. I just have yet to see an occurrence!
