Lagavulin 16 just went up in price by $25 in Ontario! It is now $125 per 750ml! And I never got around to buying a bottle! The good news is that they are once again stocking the 12-year cask strength and 1991 Distiller's Edition.

Wow, thats about $106 US. I wonder if my local store hike their price too.

Damn! My current bottle is 1/4 full.... maybe I should grab one before it jumps here too.... was $60 here a few months back.

Still $64.99 here in NH. Price hasn't changed in awhile, but I'd better grab a few just in case.

Actually I think alot of Diagio products went up in price at the LCBO. Talisker 10, Dalwinnie 15, JW range. All went up. Interestingly Talisker 18 did not suffer a price increase - yet! I'd bet on this one very soon, and at $100 cdn right now, I'd say it is underpriced by a fair margin.

I had heard a while back that the 16 yo was in short supply due to a break in production way back when. I did stock up on it and drink it only ocassionally to try to make it last. I guess with the world economy collapsing all around us whatever we have in stock at the moment will be the last good deal we got.

DiaGeo picked 16 years as the standard age for Lagavulin because that was the most abundant supply.

Now the Lagavulin "Lake" is starting to dry up...
