Hi everybody, this is my first message on your webpage.

I have a bottle of Four Roses Premium "American Light Whiskey". I believe this is the bottle that was given to me at the time of my son's birth 34 years ago. He is now about to become a dad himself and I would like to present him with it. However, there is no date anywhere on the bottle and frankly I'm not completely sure that in fact this is "the" bottle.

Can anyone help me to ascertain the actual age of this bottle of whiskey? I'd really appreciate any input.

Welcome Walt , There are those on this forum that can narrow it down better than I can , But the age sounds about right , there was a moving away from hard spirits in the late 60s early 70s and American Light Whiskey was a manifestation of this and it was thankfully short lived.
Sometimes you can look on the bottom of the bottle and ascertian when it was made usually the last 2 numbers of the year ie 75 would mean 1975 . And sometimes not. Nevertheless welcome and I hope you enjoy this forum . Congratulations to your sons passage into fatherhood and the arrival of a new grandchild for you. http://www.straightbourbon.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/smile.gif
