View Full Version : Cask, Artisanal Beverage Purveyors
The interest in products from craft distilleries is growing to the point where this San Francisco retailer, Cask (http://www.caskstore.com/), is hanging its hat on featuring them, even though it carries all of the normal stuff too. Like consumers, though, they're not quite able to distinguish between actual craft-made products, such as Hudson Baby Bourbon and Wasmunds Malt Whiskey, and the non-distiller producer products like Templeton.
They are, by the way, selling the A. H. Hirsch 16-year-old (gold foil) for $400.

Very Interesting!

There is a lot of hype about the Baby Bourbon but I am not a fan. It is way over priced for an lightly aged corn liquor. A 750 is close to $80.00:bigeyes:. The nose is a strange floral perfume and the taste is week. My money is on the Kopper Kettle out of Virginia (which I have a glass of right now). Does any one know why Belmont Farms has decided to sell?

Wow! I just check out the "Cask" web site. I bought my bottle of Baby Bourbon in Albany, NY for $38.00 and thought I paid to much. I can't believe "Cask" is selling it for $54.00. That is $108.00 a fifth. The GTS is only $84. Crazy.
It's San Francisco. They sell my book for $28.95, whereas both Amazon and I sell it for $22.95.

The difference is your book is worth it. Thanks the knowledge.

I have to admit that it would be a lot of fun to open a small store that only sells craft and higher end offerings. Imagine SF may be the only place that could sustain such a place.
Their craft whiskey offerings don't seem to be much better than any other good spirits store. I don't see any hard to find craft whiskies on the list.

Sku,
By the way, thank you for putting together the distiller list. It has guided me to some interesting finds.
