Not a bad buy at all. I prefer Macallan's older malts, but the 12-year is fairly decent.

I noticed the Macallan 25-year is now SLO only-- and for $700 a bottle. Yikes!

If you like older, Sherry-matured scotches, pick up the Glenfarclas 21 for $100 at the state store. Surprisingly-good. Surprisingly-cheap, too (relatively speaking, of course).

I have the 17 and 30 Glenfarclas and had the 25 but never did pick up a 21. So much to buy and so little money <sigh> However, the price that PA is asking for it is one of the few times that they are near the best in the country.

If you are interested I can get the Mac 25 for about $470 ea but I have to buy a case!
