View Full Version : What do you have the most of?

Two parts:
1) What label (Eagle Rare 101, WTRB, Four Roses 1B, etc) do you have the most of?
2) What Brand do you have the most of (Weller, Wild Turkey, Van Winkle, Beam, etc)?

THe single label I have the most of is Old Fitz Prime (80, 86 and 90 proof), Old Fitz BIB, Weller Centennial and then WTRR

For me, the labels brands that top the list are Wild Turkey and then Weller & Old Fitz are equal.

I have more van winkle/pappy single bottles than any others. If you group bottles by distillery BT is by far the front runner. Most of my bottles are 2004 to present. Not much luck with dusties. tim

Holy Cow, Timothy!
There's some investment there.
Those Saz 18's were never, ever $12 dusties - I've never seen a BTAC below $49.

2. Weller Centennial, Handy Rye & Dickel #12 (tie)
3. OGD114

Distillery: BT (by far)

Name: Weller (no contest on this one, whether or not you include BTAC)

I'm getting a case of OWA this week, so those numbers will skew (as that's the most of anything I've ever bought at once) -- I just like to have some around since it's hard for me to get here.

Great Thread, M -- this has been interesting.

When I first started buying bourbon ERSB 10/90 was my goto pour. I like it so much that I bought 10 bottles of it...I found them at a pretty good price. Now that I've been exposed to a number of different bourbons thanks to many here my bunker is becoming more diversified. As of late I have been buying a lot of ETL...I have 7 of those bunkered now.

Great thread to Em...should be interesting to see what everyone has!

I think the question was Labels and Brands, not Labels and Distilleries.

But I spread it out over a decade of purchases...the Van Winkles, too actually.

I seem to recall paying $40 for the original BTAC and probably the first couple years after, that it didn't really get pricey until 2004-5.

Also, I guess it could be said that I have an "investment grade" bunker.

Your right, but I do not really care. A response is better than none.

If I know the label, I know the distillery for most folks (or group of distillers). Only a hand few of folks here (relative hand full to the likelihood of folks that were going to respond) have bunkers full of dusties.

For mine weather it is label of Brand, the distillers are

My Weller collection spans SW-Bernheim-BT
My WT collection is,well of coarse all Austin Nichols :D
My Fitz Collection is SW-Berheim-Maybe one HH (with the one VSOF)

I have a bunch of different labels in Beam, WT, WR, etc.; but for #'s, nudging out everything on both label and brand is still Stagg.

kudos to hectic1, ER10/90 is one of my regular standbies, along with EJ 12&18.

OscarV is right, going for most distillery in the house will certainly give edge to the big producers with lots of labels.

Without digging and counting I'm thinking it is probably a tie between Van Winkle labels and Willett single barrel. But now that I think of it if I include all the Black Maple Hill single barrels Ryes and BOurbons and the Noah's 17's and the Vintage labels the KBD stuff is the most represented.

Most bottles of a single brand would be OWA. I have 12 bottles I can think of right off hand and that number will jump dramatically in the near future. A local store is ordering 375ml bottles in quantities of 4 until the 03 stock runs out.

Most of a single family are Weller, by far. Naturally, I'm hesitant to even post in this thread, considering the originator! :D

Well, of course, 2002 was a pretty long time ago and it was a one-year release. I did my stockpiling in 2003. So, the only place anyone could ever get it, these days, would be "dusty's".

In 2004 my wife bought me a JD single barrel

I still have a few cases of this stuff.

In 2007 we got invited to Lynchburg as part

had no intention on buying another barrel,

39 cases (and another empty barrel!) for the

Daaaaayum Fish! I have a couple of bowling buddies that would love to have your name and address. :slappin: They've kicked the idea around about buying a barrel too. Since the economy took a dump, that talk has toned down a lot the last few months though. :frown: Joe

But then she'd be stuck with all this hooch that she

When I was down at the SBs gathering, there were a
few folks who went in on a barrel. That hadn't even
occurred to me but it is a nice way to do it - get a
group of 4, 6 or 8 and split the batch up to make it
easier on the wallet. The folks at JD are happy to
work up different neck hang tags so you can each
get your own. Only problem is deciding who gets the
empty barrel.

Here's a photo of my Jimmy Bedford & myself (my
Mrs. was seated to Jimmy's right but she asked to
be cropped out) after we narrowed the selections
down to one bottle. My wife chose the mildest tasting
but me & Jimmy both picked the same one:

Great story - glad you got a laugh!

You can tell your friend that he doesn't have to buy
a barrel himself - I learned at the distillery that some
guys have "gone in" on in one. Four or five guys chip
in and the folks at JD are more than happy to make
up different neck tags for each person. Only problem
is who gets the barrel and the framed certificate that
comes with the bottles!
