View Full Version : Daviess County Bourbon
Anyone know anything about this brand? I saw a dusty bottle from the early '80s in a shop. Thanks.

It was a Medley brand. I don't think it's made anymore, although with the reopening of the Medley distillery, who knows what its future may be.
You should grab it, last one I had was pretty good.
Daviess County is the county where Owensboro, Kentucky, is.
For $6 I guess I can take the plunge. They also had Hill & Hill. Is that an old Heaven Hill brand?

According to my go-to guide on such things, MJ's World Guide to Whisky (1987), Hill & Hill was an ND brand back then.

Sounds like you're in a store where I left things behind. I remember seeing both of them early in my hunting not knowing enough at the time to get them... Oh the regrets. For that price, definitely.

A couple years ago I found a Daviess County decanter that a store owner sold to me for $10. It still sits on the shelf.
Some day I must change that habit of keeping bourbon on the shelf.
Here it is. It appears to be a 1982 from the bottom of the bottle. I've never had a Medley so I'm pretty interested to try it.
