View Full Version : if you're looking for WLW in Florida
ABC has it available on their website for delivery. $75.39/bottle with 5% discount on 3 bottles. There is, of course, tax and shipping to take into account, but the discount can help offset that. 207 bottles currently left in the warehouse.

So this one store received 60 some cases of WLW.
If that's not a typo I wonder how many cases the state of Florida received. It also makes me more upset that states like mine, Ohio, received none.
Spread it around BT!

That is for all of the ABC stores in FL. They always have it. It is where I found my first 2005 and 2006 for $30 each on sale 4 yrs ago.

ABC is a statewide chain, well over 60 stores, and someone (I believe it was Steve - sailor22) told me that they had an exclusive deal with BT to be the sole distributor of WLW in Florida. If true, then that's the entire Florida allocation.
It seems an odd arrangement, but I'm willing to believe it. The store where I used to buy BTAC in Tallahassee - Market Square Liquors - only had Saz18, Handy, GTS and ER17.
None of the Tallahassee ABCs brought in any WLW to place on the shelves (at least, not prior to 2007). I didn't even know there was a Weller in the BTAC until I discovered SB.com.

That is true about ABC being the sole distributers. When I spoke to the ABC on Thomasville Rd a couple weeks ago about securing a bottle of WLW, they told me that they would be the first store to receive any that came in, and that last year they were only allocated 2 or 3 bottles. :banghead:

On the other hand, they (ABC) don't carry anything else in the BTAC.

Thanks for sussing that out. It's quite a strange arrangement.
Perhaps I will resort to snail mail in badgering BT for some in state product.

How was the Horse festival back home? I missed the report on all that.
Hah, Mannys is on "At a Deli" on Food Network right now. Kugel!!!
ABC Florida had the Willian LaRue Weller on sale in September for $69 a bottle with double points on their card. I was only able to find one bottle of the stuff in the two stores located within 50 miles of me but I was grateful for what I found. I may hit those stores again today to see if they have more but it sort of annoys me that they took them off sale as they aparently received their shipment. I tried to have one store hold a bottle or three for me. They said they would, took my name and never called. When I walked in and asked I always got the same story....the truck arrives on Thursday, come in then.

Between ALL (8 I think) the ABC's in Tallahassee only a total of 2 '09s came to town. I was told on Thursday by the largest store in town that NONE would be available in Tallahassee this year but that they would TRY and order three for me.
Well, I was skeptical at first about the ease of ordering off the ABC website, especially considering that Tallahassee wasn't even allotted a single bottle this year, but it worked out and my WLW came to me this afternoon.
In regards to the warehouse supply vs. what is in the stores, this is what it says on the website:
"204 unit(s) available in our warehouse.
Quantity above does not reflect store inventory. Please check with your local ABC store for store availability"

Congrats Ryan! Cool that you can order it direct like that.
I need fewer than the fingers of one hand to enumerate the things I miss about living in Tallahassee/Florida. Commencing with the pinkie, this one would be the ring finger.

It took one call to the right person and the ABC store down the street got 15 in the next day. Now there are a couple in my bunker and a few friends have some in theirs. There were 5 left on the shelf on Friday.
Good job! 15 is a hell of a jump from none at all. You probably put a few unexpected smiles on some faces walking through the doors of that ABC. :)
I picked up two yesterday from ABC stores in Broward County bringing my total to three. My attempt to get the ABC store nearest my home, in West Kendall, to order more has failed several times. On the other hand the store in Pembroke Pines ordered more, called me up while I was teaching and promptly left a message to come pick it up. I may need to speak to the manager of the West Kendall store about customer service....:smiley_acbt:
