Not really a cake, but my wife tried something new this year as far as Christmas cookies go. She made bourbon-pecan tassies. They're a bit like a bourbon pecan pie in a mini pastry cup. Good stuff. :yum: Joe

I've had this version (http://www.atasteofkentucky.com/shop/kentucky-woods-bourbon-barrel-cake-p-1506.html)of the bourbon cake and it is quite good.

Looks very good and the price is very reasonable too for the weight of the cake.

I posted this recipe on my blog (http://bourbondork.blogspot.com/2010/12/holiday-abv-bourbon-cake.html)a couple weeks back. I made it last year and it turned out pretty darn good which I think had to do with the basting process three weeks prior to serving.

Regan's book has a great Bourbon Shortbread recipe, that I use to make shortbread cookies.
Any of you guys down south like Tea Cakes?
My Grandmother used to make them, I can still taste them.

We took one of these over to the neighbors yesterday for a Christmas brunch. The neighbors gandkids, ages 5 and 7, asked if they could have some. Since all the alchohol is evaporated during cooking, we said sure.
They ran to their mom, screaming with excitement: "Yay... we're going to have some 'Burp N Cake'!"
