Ralfy and excellent whisky ambassador Peter take you through the whisky making process from the truck that delivers the local barley, through the malting process, through the distilling process, through the bottling process, all on site at Springbank. You'll learn everything about about it except the taste.

We (me and the lady) were having the second to the last pour from a bottle of Springbank 10 when I stumbled onto these videos. ... of course, now the bottle is empty , but what a nice tasting tour all the same.

I always enjoy Ralfy, but he really out does himself here. Great job, Ralfy!!!

I will second the recommendation for this series. I have never had Springbank and don't really care that much for Scotch but this is really good in depth look at the workings of a distillery.

I "third" the recommendation. The tour is fantastically informative (and I'm also a fan of Springbank).

I've had Springbank but the memory is too dim as it was the third bottle to make the rounds over a long evening at a private hunting club. I do like Ralfy's approach generally even when we don't exactly agree.

Springbank's lineup and "house style" is really unique. They have an amazing milkiness to the malt flavors, almost like rice pudding, and you can often find hints of coconut. Try the 10 year-old when you have a chance; it's one of my all-time favourites.

Springbank actually offers a week long "whisky school" in which you get to work side by side with their master distiller and learn from grain to bottle how they make their whisky. Only about 7-10 Americans get to attend every year

I wanted to attend but a trip to Scotland is not in my budget currently :(
