I have a friend heading to Pittsburgh later this month, and he's asked me if anyone can recommend some places to buy bourbon. Can anyone suggest some good retail outlets, and what sort of selection should he expect to see?
Thanks heaps for any advice
Pa. is a control state so there is only one source.... the state stores.
This link will tell you all available bourbons in Pennsylvania and the addresses of the state liquor stores.
FYI, Pittsburgh is in Allegheny County, when it asks for your location.

I've been thinking of going there next time I'm in Pittsburgh. Not expecting much from the whiskey but I guess I could help out a local business.
It's really a shame that my home state was once the whiskey capital of the USA and now zilch. Oh to have a full distillery right down the road.....

I would think the best bet is to order online and have it shipped (~$1-2/bottle) to any store for pick up:

Notice that they have Online only, In-store, and Special order tabs.
