Shelter Point Distillery is located on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.

One for our Canadian SBers to keep an eye out for in the future.

100% malted barley, copper pot stills...

I only hope that our west coast can produce better Malt than our east coast (blech!) (http://www.glenbreton.ca/glenbreton.htm).

I haven't tried any from that distillery....not a ringing endorsement it seems!

Still Waters in Ontario is also making single malts. Theirs should be ready 2013+. They will make single barrel and cask strength I seen on their page.

"As these casks become mature, we will begin to release single cask offering, limited edition, numbered bottles." That's pretty brave.

It will be interesting to see how their whisky turns out. Their blended "1+11" is SUPER sweet, almost liqueur like in flavor, but with a fairly thin body. I see they are putting some rye (http://www.stillwatersdistillery.com/rye.php) down, but it's all in ex-bourbon casks. I wonder if they could be convinced to use some new oak for a barrel or two.
