Hi everybody! I'm Marc, from Chicago. I'm not new to bourbon, but I'm new to the forums. I just recently discovered SB and hopefully i'll have the time to contribute and become an active member. My father loves bourbons and scotches and he's passed that on to me and it's through him that I've been able to try and develop my likes and dislikes. It's been a great way for us to bond and stay close, I mean, other than being family and all. Here's my modest collection, it has the usual suspects. With some restocks and stuff I've picked up recently. I'm looking forward to getting to know and learn from all of you.

Thanks Wainwright, the stash is modest. I've been able to bunker a few of bottles of the JPS 18- batch 12, which seems to be my fav batch, and a couple of the '12 LESmB. Once i finish some low bottles, i'm wanting to crack the 5 year willett and maybe find a time to try the 21 year.

I've been meaning to try the Brimstone, is it any good?

it's one of the more polarizing offerings from balcones. it's nose is smokey for sure. reminds me of a woody barbecue sauce. palate is jerky, bacon bits, bbq, and savory cornbread. has an oily (to me) mouthfeel. the finish is long and leaves a somewhat salty aftertaste that makes the smoky flavor linger. i think that's one of the reasons why it's love or hate.

while i think it's good, it's not something that's going to be a daily pour, BUTi wouldn't not buy it again.

When I look at my collection of seven, four of which are scotches, then it looks huge to me!

Welcome Marc...look around and pop in chat some time...IMO it's the best way to sample bourbon and get to know other forum members. :coolL
