I have an unopened pint of Old Boone's Knoll bottled in 1916, 100 proof still packaged in box by AMS ( American Medicinal Spirits) How can I find out more about this? thanks for your help.
AMS was a consolidation warehouse during Prohibition, run by the Wathen family. After Repeal, it was one of the founding companies of National Distillers.
The bottle you have was sold by doctor's prescription during Prohibition as "medicinal whiskey." I'm guessing it is in a box with a window in the front. Most of them were packaged that way.
As for its value, there really isn't any active market in that type of item so value is impossible to estimate. It is illegal to sell whiskey without a license, which complicates matters. That said, you might want to try eBay or another auction site.

Chuck,
AMS was purchased and disolved by National Distillers in the late 20's before prohibition ended.
Mike Veach
Instead of "founding" I should have said "foundations," as many key parts of National's portfolio came with the AMS acquisition and at least one of AMS's owners, Richard Wathen, became a senior executive at National.
