A friend of my wife's has these Jim Beam decanters. She is wondering what they are worth, if anything. I'd appreciate any help on this matter. Three of the bottles are Collectors Editions (Americana)all volume III the other three are Bi-Centennial "Limited Edition" presents (The Saturday Evening Post) painting by Norman Rockwell. I have no idea what this all means. All the bottles are sealed. They are all ceramic bottles and are in the boxes. However, the boxes are not in A-1 shape. I think they must have faded over the years.
Thanks!

It's hard to say for sure what they're worth...I suppose the generic answer would be similar to Chuck's answer to what a collectible whiskey is worth: I believe the quote is something to the effect of "it's worth whatever somebody is willing to pay." You can check the pulse of the collectibles market by purusing eBay--I've found even the very rare decanters go unsold with $9.99 starting bids.

Thanks, Gary. Most of the decanters on Ebay are $9.99 - $14.99. And there are alot of them!

another good source for decanter prices is Kovel's Bottle Collecting Guide. They put out a new one every couple of years and list prices for decanters, including Jim Beam, Ezra Brooks and Commonwealth. You should be able to get a copy at your local bookstore.

Your best resource about collectible bottles is right here in Kentucky. Here is a link Heartland of Kentucky (http://www.ka.net/heartlandky/) He's been doing this 25 years. I met him at the festival years ago.
There is a section on his site that has a buy/sell...Hope this helps your friend.
