View Full Version : SW Weller 12yo
For anyone interested, the Cork and Bottle in covington is selling a single-barrel Weller 12yo that claims to be SW "Van Winkle" bourbon no longer available. The sign stated that the bourbon was actually 14yo. It was retailing for $19.99. This is likely a barrel that is similar to the 4 that were purchased by SB.com members back in September (probably one of our rejects:lol:), and it's probably one of the last chances you'll get to find affordable SW bourbon. I didn't pick up one, but I probably will on my next pass through.
Just FYI

Where is Covington in relation to Louisville or Bardstown?
Joe
Covington is northeast of Bardstown and Louisville off of I-71/I-75 just across the river from Cincinnati. Probably a 2 hour drive from Bardstown. How are Cork & Bottle prices and selection compared to other places in Kentucky?

That's out of date, though. There's no link to it from their home page, and I think they last updated it last summer.
We call Cork 'n' Bottle the Kentucky Welcome Center - it's just off the first exit in Kentucky across the I-75 bridge from Cincinnati.

I was at the Cork n' Bottle in Covington two weeks ago and bought a bottle of the Weller 12yo single barrel #2. They currently have two of the Weller 12 yo single barrels for sale. The display in the store has tasting notes for each barrel. They compare the taste of barrel #1 to Buffalo Trace and barrel #2 to Van Winkle. The #2 was excellent bourbon, and I'm kicking myself that I didn't buy more, but I was flying back to California and didn't have room!
