View Full Version : Booker's?
Does anyone know what is happening to Booker's, now that Booker is gone? Will Jim Beam continue to bottle something called Booker's? Who will select the barrels? I know Fred Noe selected a barrel for the commemorative bottling.
Booker's will continue and Fred will do the selecting, with some help no doubt.

I like Booker's and am glad to hear it will still carry on. When you say that Fred will carry on the selection with some help, are you inferring that he is lacking experience and good whiskey judgement or am I totally barking up the wrong tree?
They must be some mighty big shoes to fill I would have thought...
Will the bottles indicate the change? Will there be some way of knowing which bottles are left over from Booker and which are Fred's?
I wonder if there is a notable difference in their tastes and, therefore barrel selections? Has anyone opened their commemorative bottle? How did it compare to Booker’s…. Booker’s?
I suspect it was a panel decision under Booker and is the same under Fred, and Fred says he and Booker talked about it and he was involved with his dad in doing the selection before Booker died.
Booker and Fred have different personalities. I suspect Booker pretty much said "this is it" and everyone went along with it, but Fred probably will be more collegial.
They don't do this is a vacuum. It's a process of comparing actual past selections to prospective current selections, so they aren't trying to reinvent the wheel each time, or striving for some ideal, they are trying to match the Booker's Bourbon "profile."
Are the Booker’s Limited Edition numbered on the bottle, as well as the box?
I have come by a bottle (very grateful for that), but I want to ensure it’s the real thing. Everything looks right, special label on bottle, dark wood box with quote from Booker, plaque on the box. The box is numbered (on the plaque) 2038 of 3000, but the bottle is not.

Another Booker's bottling question: I just acquired a Bookers 10th aniversary bottle...much like is described above. Bottle has bronze-colored wax, dark wood box, plaque on the box.....
Being 10th anniversary that would make it a bottle from about 1998. Question is: Is there anything special in that bottle, or the same 'ol Bookers?

Thanks for the earlier reply Chuck. I'm just glad they are keeping up this (IMO) rather fine whiskey going. A nice "full on" whiskey that really works at such a high proof.
