So, this past weekend my wife and I were down in Atlantic City, NJ. We went to dinner at a restaurant called Red Sqaure which exists in the new wing of the Tropicana called The Quarter. VERY cool area. Nice restaurants and a very lively and social atmosphere. Red Square has 150 different vodkas and even a giant cooler to go drink them in if you are so inclined. Vodka isnt my thing, but my wife loved the martinis. The cool thing was that tey infuse their own vodka. They had 3 large glass jars with vodka being infused. One was passion fruit and strawbeerries, hot peppers and other vegetables (I tried a bloody mary with this, WOW!), and a cherry cordial one. The last one my wife fell in love with it. It was vodka soaking in chocolate chips and maraschino cherries with the juice included as well. It really was a dessert drink, but pretty darn tasty. What happened next? We came home Sunday and I had to order a large glass jar with a spigot to try and make this concoction at home now! Anyone ever infuse their own vodka? Probably the wrong place to ask, but curious if anyone here has.

I keep a bottle of Chile-pepper infused Ketel One and Rose-Petal & Vanilla infused Tito's in the bar at all times. I have made small 200 ml bottles of other combo's in the psat but those two are always enjoyed at my house. If you need any help PM me.

I don't particularly care for vodka - I like to have flavor in my alcohol. But a friend of mine keeps a half habanera chile in a bottle of dry vermouth. A teaspoon or two of this in a jigger of gin makes a killer martini!

I used to put a couple of cloves in a bottle of cheap Suntory vodka. I liked it but it gave me the runs the next day for some reason. I don't know why. At the time I chewed cloves, several a day, and that didn't give me diarrea. I was drinking about the same amount as when I drank the clove vodka and that didn't do it either. I never did figure it out, I just stopped making it.

I think there is also a bar called Red Square at one of the hotel/casinos in Las Vegas and it too had a bunch of different vodkas. Did the one in Atlantic City have an iced bar top to keep the drinks cold? That chocolate cherry infused vodka sounds tasty!

I just looked up Red Square Las Vegas and it is located inside Mandalay Bay and also has a restaurant. It might be that the one in Atlantic City is either owned by the same people or is a franchise!

Thomas,

It sounds like the same one! They had the icetop bar and a special room that was 30 degrees where you could drink some vodka as well. They'd provide you with a warm jacket if it was too cold for you.

That is definitely the same place. In the advertisement for the Red Square in Las Vegas, they do mention about the locker as well as the warm jackets. When Red Square first opened in Vegas, I read that they had some brands of vodka that were available no where else in the US but there. There is also another night club somewhere in Vegas called Rum Jungle. When I first read about it, they then had over 160 brands of rum on the back bar. That was several years ago so it might even be more by now. I think I'll look up their ebsite abd see. I 'll keep you posted!

Rum Jungle, more nightclub than bar, also is in Mandalay Bay.

I just looked up Rum Jungle on the net and it indeed is quite a bit of night club. Quite a cover charge to get in too. The funny thing is, I never knew it was in Mandalay Bay when I was in Vegas a few years ago. I was in the Casino there but didn't walk around much. Regular bars are more my thing than over the top night clubs!

Rumjungle only charges a cover late at night (after the dinner hour) when it morphs into a nightclub. They do have an incredible selection of rums from all over the world. Sadly, most customers experience them only in high-alchohol, fruity drinks.

visit me in Seattle and I'll pour you a martini made with ginger infused vodka (in my case Rain Vodka). Simple recipe, fresh grated ginger root placed soaked in vodka for about 2-3 months.

That sounds good!

Well, last night I tasted my chocolate and maraschino cherry concoction. It tastes just like you are eating a chocolate covered cherry. Throw some of that liquid in a shaker, add some ice, shake vigorously, and instant dessert!

Also, I used Tito's vodka in case anyone was wondering.
