I was out and about the other day and ran across a bottle of Old Rip Van Winkle Very Special Stock. It was a 10yr 90 proof bottle. Is this the same as the ORVW 10yr? or something different?

Can you post a picture? Is it a squat bottle? Does it say Lawrenceburg or Frankfort on the label?

This was a special customized front label bottling that I believe Julian would sign at in-store events. I bought this one in Bowling Green; they had forgotten to affix a standard label to this extra bottle after the event was over.

I showed this to Julian at a gazebo and he graciously offered to send me a label, if I wrote to his secretary. I lost her name, and never got around to it.

Thats the one I saw. It also came in a red bag like the some of the other pappy bottles. Thanks for clearing it up.

But this one is "Very Special Stock" and is a full 90.4 proof ... which is of, course, .4 better than that standard 10/90 stuff ;)
