I found this great site while searching bourbon reviews, though ironically, I already know a few members here through another passion of mine, cigars.

Anyhow, my name is Greg and I am a whiskey man. I like the smell of whiskey, the taste, the different varieties (bourbon being my favorite) and I like to cook with it.

Hopefully I can add something useful to this forum.

Cheers!

Turn around now and run Greg! Just do it and don't ask questions! Before you know it, you will have 200 bottles and will be thinking about where you can put another 200 more! :)

OR,

Just do like the rest of us and start buying them by the case! :) Welcome, and have fun!

There's always that first time when you've been hunting for a while and you suddenly realize that you're driving with maybe three gallons of highly flammable liquids in fragile glass containers in your passenger compartment.

Nice to meet you Greg. What is your favorite bourbon?

Nice to meet you Greg. What is your favorite bourbon? That's a hard one....so far the best I've tried was George T Stagg 2006. Moonshine whiskey at it's best!

However, I think my favorite would be one that I've actually drunk several bottles of, which would be Elijah Craig 18 y.o.

That might change if I could find the Stagg 'round here :smiley_acbt:

Greg,

I'm about 20 mins from Fredneck (as you put it). Have you tried Ye Old Spirit Shop off of 7th? They have a pretty nice collection, not exhaustive, but enough to select from.

By the way, they have about 6-7 bottles of ER 17 2005....

That's right, I saw those about a month ago sitting on the shelf. I went through Frederick and hit about a dozen or so stores trying to pick up whatever I could find that VA doesn't carry. One store that I thought had a pretty decent selection was Old Farm Liquor. Pretty good sized store. That's where I found the Old Charter 8 year.
