Anyone know when they bottle "Pappy"? I'm holding onto my last bottle of Old Rip 15 and can't find the new repackaged 15. I did catch a couple 20yo Pappy bottles a while back and thought I heard they were only bottled once a year, is that right? If so, when can we expect to start seeing it? Thanks.

I don't know if the Pappys are only bottled once-a-year, but I know they bottled some 20 year last week, and some 15 year today from observing the Buffalo Trace Distillery cam at Blanton's Bottling Hall

Does that mean we should be seeing PVW 15 on shelves. I'm up in CT and I have tried ordering this with many liquor stores but their suppliers don't have any in stock.

It looks like they're bottling a Pappy this morning (July 12) but I can't see the label to be sure what vintage.

I saw them bottling the 20 yr. last month and there's plenty on the shelves right now...but for how long?

On BT's website I'm trying to control the webcam for Blanton's Bottling Hall, but when I connect it's already moving. And, if I try to move it, a login screen pops up when I click pan or zoom or anything like that.

Should I have a login?

Okay, even though I couldn't control the camera myself, I was able to see that the PVW being bottled was indeed the 15 yo.

Binny's has PVW 15 yo for $44.99. Not sure if it's a good price or not, but here's the link: http://www.binnys.com/search/spiritsearch.cfm?pn=6&advs=2&ptid=2&ast=31&asc=&astxt=

OK, Pappy 15yo started showing up recently. It disappeared after Christmas last year. Still wondering of the volume per run. I'm stocking up since I'm not sure if there will be a price increase. I was told that the 20yo was going from mid $90's to $175! Priced right out of my range. Anyway, the 15 is still around $41 now, I got 2 and going back for more as budget permits. Anybody got info on its future?

That's a good price. Where did you buy it?

That's what it's selling for at Liquor Barn in Louisville, forty and change.

So that's the current bottling then? I have 5 bottles from the last run in my bunker. I'll be shopping LB next month so may pick up one more Pappy.

Just opened the first bottle and if this batch is any indication of past versions..then AMAZING! I've got a couple ORVW 15 bunkered, may have to do a side by side because I don't remember having this reaction to it. I'm gonna have to rat hole a case of this stuff. While I thought the 20yo was an interesting pour, this is hands down a "peak maturity" issue that gives the 15 the edge, IMO. Pappy da man.

I have to agree completely about the 15yr: I find the 20yr a bit flat and overaged, and the 23 too woody (the retail, not the single barrels). The 15 is perfection.

I don't know if it's the new batch. They were still wrapped in tissue, and I didn't want to unwrap them just to look.

Sorry, but a little off topic. Just read on the PVW website that they're supposed to bottle a new batch of 23 yr old this month. Anyone have any more info???? I emptied 1 of 2 bottles over the summer, one of which I paid dearly for on ebay. Hoping to pay regular price this time around for 3-4 bottles, maybe more for gifts.

At Bourbon Fest, Julian spoke of bottling some Pappy 23 that had just turned 23yo in September. Collectors take note....the gold wax top is gone. Its now the gold foil top. Easier to open. Bottle no1 with the gold foil was sold at the auction.

So is the new 15yr out now? What exactly is the difference in label? I saw on their website that they have a new name and a new look...but I was too lazy to go dig out my older bottle of 15yr. Keeping it in a hard to reach place limits me from easily grabbing it to consume too soon!

My big question about the new Pappy Van Winkle 15yo is..

Is it going to be priced higher than it was before?

I think we can safely assume that the price of all bourbon is going nowhere but up.

I cleaned out 2 stores today and added 6 more PVW 15's to the bunker. One store was $41, the other $49, but I got those for $42 since I do a lot of business there. Both stores were ordering more. What shocked me was the price of the 20yo. $194!!! I got 2 bottles just a few months ago for $85, at the same store. I assumed the 15 was going for a big increase so I stocked up. No telling what the 23yo will be, but I'll probably never try it. Any single bottle that gets north of $100 and I get nervous when I pull out my wallet.

I thought I'd revive this thread from last year to ask if anyone has seen any '08 Pappy 15 yet? I'm very interested to see if there is a change this year since the recipe may be different. There's still a few left from last year and I'm more than stocked up, just wondering about any changes in flavor.
