No, it's not an April Fools joke. I'm just early for a change.

OGD 114 has been done before, but it's been a little over 6 years. Besides, with all the talk lately, I thought this might be a pretty good time to revisit it. Why not?

My thoughts....I know all the love given OGD 114 here, but I have to say that I just don't care for it all that much. I don't hate it, but the combo of heat and spiciness it has just doesn't agree with my tastes. That's just me. Y'all know me and my love for wheaters. Regardless of what I think, I still know what a good bourbon, and great value OGD 114 is. Soooooooo...........

......Cheers to everyone, and happy posting. Let's hear it for OGD 114! :woohoo:

BOTM 3/13: George Dickel Rye.

There was a lot of discussion about this in the rye forum, so I figured why not. It was also suggested to me by another member who was trying to help me out. And you all know, I can use all the help I can get. So the BOTM for this month is Dickel Rye. Tennessee Rye. Well, MGPI, LDI, ABC, or XYZ rye, finished with the Lincoln County process. Whatever.

Pretty much all I know about this is what's been posted here, so not much commentary from me again this month. (Okay, that's enough cheering. Sit down now.) I will say that I have seen it around here in the liquor department of my local grocery store chain. These stores normally don't mess around with their inventory much, so it was a little bit of a surprise for me the first time I saw it. The price was okay too. $23.99, which for these stores is pretty decent. In conclusion, here's a rye that appears to be readily available, that's being sold at a fairly decent price, and also one that most folks think tastes pretty good. As has been mentioned, sounds like a value pour to me.

So, what say ye? What tickles your Dickel? :slappin: Let's hear your thought about George Dickel Rye.

Cheers! Joe

Hey! I'm early for a change. Every once in a while. I was looking at the BOTM list, and I just picked this one out of the hat. It's current, and it hasn't been BOTM yet. There ya' go.

I have to admit that I've never bought a bottle of OC 101. I also have to admit that I can't remember if I've tasted OC 101, or if I haven't. You know the deal. Sampler, KBF, GN, gazebo, etc. I seem to remember a bottle gracing the table at the gazebo once, but....

Anywho, without further ado, let's hear what your thoughts are on OC 101.

Cheers! Joe
