Welcome Mike. There are some great folks near you and some graet liquor sotes (Julios for one).
You will love the Van Winkles and the might spoil you and ruin you on teh Jim Beam products :D
I look forward to your posts...

Welcome Counselor,
You'll love any Van Winkle product, they are all excellent bourbons.
Here is an in state store that may be of interest to you. Unfortunately they wouldn't ship to MI.

Welcome aboard, Mike! I'm sure you'll enjoy your time here. I look forward to reading about your continued exploration into Bourbonia.
I'd skip the trip to Julio's. Instead, drive the extra hour and go to the many stores in Lexington. Better selection, better prices (no taxes on bourbon in KY!), and you get to visit Buffalo Trace Distillery, to boot! :D
Re: New Member From Maryland
Hey guys. Thanks for the welcome.
Well, you're right. I am sipping on some Van Winkle right now and enjoying it a lot.
Happy New Year to all.

The WT Single Barrel also was very enjoyable. I tried Jefferson's Reserve for the first time this evening and liked it. I plan on opening a bottle of Van Winkle Reserve tomorrow.
I hope to learn a lot and eventually contribute to the forum.

Mike, welcome. It appears from your list of bourbons that you are off to a great start. I too was an avid scotch drinker until they priced me out of the market. I still enjoy a good scotch but I can enjoy a lot more great American whiskey for the price.

Mike, welcome...I'm a relative newbie, too, but like you, am diving right in. Hope you enjoy the forum and learn as much as I already have.

Welcome Mike.
We're neighbors (VA), so please feel free to ask if you have any questions.

Hi Mike,
You and I are on the same boat. Same age, same Bourbon experience, etc. I posted my intro thread a couple of days ago. Looking forward 'virtually' experiencing the journey with you.
P.S. I got a bottle of Pappy 20yr for Christmas. I am going to try it for the first time today.
