Old Yellowstone
Back in the 70's when I was learning about bourbon, I recall buying this excellent whiskey. I liked it because it was very drinkable straight at my preferred 80 proof. Also, it was fairly priced and much better value than many higher-priced products.
It had a flowery, sweetish aroma and flavour, very balanced, rarely "spirity" or acidic.
Who made Yellowstone then?
Is it still made now? If so, has the palate changed since the 70's?

Re: Old Yellowstone
G.M. we just discussed Yellowstone a couple of months ago. Try doing a search or just scan back through a few pages under 'General Bourbon Topics' until you find it. I believe that will answer most of your questions about that brand.

Re: Old Yellowstone
Thanks. I did search first, Old Yellowstone as a phrase, and nothing came up. I tried Yellowstone alone after seeing your reply and presto!
Troy's original post reported the taste just like I recalled it from the 1970's, including that medicinal/ash-like note.
I wonder if his bottle might have been from Glenmore stock.
Anyway, good to hear this prodcut is still around.
