Re: How many bottles do you own of Stitzel-Weller bourbon?
A liquor store near me has two, one-liter bottles of Old Fitzgerald Prime Bourbon, 86 proof. They say distilled and bottled in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky. On the bottom of the bottle is the number 42.
Is this SW juice, and are they worth getting for $16?

At 16 bucks, buy it, try it, if you like it, get the others. Try to forget that it might be SW whiskey. Sounds like it might be.
At 86 proof and 16 bucks that would be my recommendation regardless of the label.

Do the bottles have a UPC and Gov't warning? What is the UPC if it has one?
Re: How many bottles do you own of Stitzel-Weller bourbon?
I've just got two 750ml bottles of 1849 and a 1.75l of Rebel Yell. The Rebel Yell isn't very good. The 1849 is peachy. Or, rather, cherry.

It has a government warning, and the UPC is 8850822440. The bottom of the bottle says 95. Before, I only had what info the store attendant would give me.

Ok, so those are SW bourbon for sure. If '95 is correct, then the distillation would have been at least '91 if not older. The UPC of 88508 is the UPC that UD used before the SW plant closed in '92.
Re: How many bottles do you own of Stitzel-Weller bourbon?
I agree with Greg -- it's S-W juice. The catch is that Old Fitz Prime is arguably a "lesser" expression, but at that price I'd grab it in a heartbeat!
Re: How many bottles do you own of Stitzel-Weller bourbon?
I've got a few 375s of exactly what you're describing. It's not mind-blowing, but it's a very nice bourbon that gives you a bit of that S-W taste at a reasonable price. It's noticeably better than the Cabin Still/Rebel Yell bottlings from the early-mid 90's that I've tried.
Re: How many bottles do you own of Stitzel-Weller bourbon?
Used to keep a couple cases around, I particularly liked the green label Bond and that was no longer available moved to the 1849. Somewhere between the 2nd and 3rd wives switched back to rye based mash bills and haven't purchased any SW expressions in several years now.
