I have not tried this but the review was interesting.
He uses a technique I have not encountered outside of a distillery tour:
"Rubbing some whisky between my hands brings out the aromas of the barrel it was matured in."
I guess most of us don't want to waste whisk(e)y but it is another way to create an aroma.

I tried the 1991 Yellow Submarine bottling by Bruichladdich recently, and it blew me away. I look forward to trying more from this distillery.
