BOTM 1/10 Weller 12 Year Old

Well, I cracked that sucker. First I smelled it. Actually several times as to make sure I smelled what I thought I smelled. No pull back here, this stuff is amazing. Second was a smell test in the glass. Wonderful! Third was a taste test. Smooth, tasty with no burn or creeping cringe. This bourbon is made to be consumed neat, and that's what I was looking for. My rookie bourbon opinion gives 12 year Weller a top shelf rating. Blows the Reserve out of the water.

I will now buy several bottles, for what you gentlemen call the bunker.

Hah. Good that you liked it.

Now let me give you a silly suggestion. Take a few more pulls off that sucker, pour off a bit in a mini bottle and let the big bottle sit for a week or so.

Then pour them side by side and see what ya think.

No shit, I would assume it will start to oxidize from the oxygen but which way will it go. Better or worse.

I can do that. All I wanted was a straight informative answer not a short do it yourself and find out. New members come to this forum to learn from more experienced conniseurs of fine spirits, not to be given homework like a school kid. No insults or arguments were ever intended on my end.

"Better" or "worse" are possible, based on your palate. Nobody here is going to know what your preferences are, so we can't tell you if you are going to like it better or not.

The whole point was if I told you what to expect it is more likely you will perceive that. In effect I'm asking you 'what do you think' instead of coloring your perceptions with my observations.

I never looked at it that way. Sound advice. Two 4 ounce bottles are filled and will be tried in 1 wk. intervals if the remaing bottle lasts that long.
