Empty Bottle Support Group - Spring 2010
Here's where we can mourn the loss of a bottle, either a favorite or something that you were happy to get out of the way to make room for another.
No matter what, we're here for you.
I wrung out the last of an EC12 last night after watching basketball all day. It will definitely be replaced.

Drained a PS 13 yo Willett SB last night. Always sad to see a barrel-strength bottle go.
Re: Empty Bottle Support Group - Spring 2010
I killed a bottle of Blanton's the other night
Re: Empty Bottle Support Group - Spring 2010
Elmer T. Lee bit the dust during Sunday's tournament games, following my beloved Yellow Jackets........
:(
Re: Empty Bottle Support Group - Spring 2010
A Weller Special Reserve, but I've already christened its replacement.
Re: Empty Bottle Support Group - Spring 2010
Knocked off my worst bottle of ORVW 10/107 to date. It was medicinal from the start and only the last few pours resembled this fine whiskey at all. I have another 3 bunkered from the same store and I fear opening any more. Good Riddance!

Wow! Sorry to hear about this. What release do you think these bottles are from?
The Autumn 2008 are very good, I have a few more bunkered.

This one was No. B2006. I'd have to check the others I have bunkered. I have to say that it has been my first disappointment with the ORVW 10/107's. I had a chance to bunker another 1/2 dozen recently and I walked away. The 10/107 has been a favorite everyday pour of mine for a number of years and I usually have a good number in the bunker. I'm hoping it was just that bottle :(
Re: Empty Bottle Support Group - Spring 2010
I drained the last bit of Old Weller Antique 107. This was a 2006 bottling. It was intense. Every sip was an explosion of dark brown sugar, oak-n-smoke, black pepper and all spice. I also detected fragments of buttered cinnamon toast and vanilla. I thought there might be a bit of menthol in the the finish along with some big bite of oak.
Unfortunately, it's not sold in my neck of the woods so I'll have to pack up and head to another state and nose around for it if I want to try another bottle.

Said farewell to a WT Tradition. Sigh, to the bunker for another.
