"Antique" Kentucky straight bourbon

I cannot find much information on this bottle I ran into today. It's called Antique and is labeled having come from the "Antique Distilling Co" in Owensboro, KY. All other information I've found on this brand list it coming from Frankford, not Owensboro. Can anyone tell me anything based on this picture? It was only $12 so if it turns out to be really old (or really good) I'll pick it up as a souvenir most likely

And talk about a "dusty" bottle... it had cobwebs on it and the label was nearly peeling off! The plastic bottle is even sunken in.. not sure what causes that

The sunken in quality sort of creeps me out. I've seen some 20+ y/o 1.75L bottles of Ancient Age that have that similar quality and I've avoided them for that reason. From a distance I thought it was a weird bottle design.

All those years of gross plastic-y chemicals leaching out into the bourbon can't be a good thing.

Despite its bad condition that's a fairly recent bottling. Antique was once a distinguished name. It was produced at the Athertonville Distillery that was eventually owned and closed by Seagram's. Not sure who would have been bottling it out of Owensboro. I don't recall ever seeing it as a Medley, Glenmore, Barton, or BT brand.

I have a bottle of Antique (4/5 quart) and reading this thread sent me
searching. I found this old thread - as in post #1, my bottle was Distilled
by Frankfort Distilling, Louisville, KY but replies list Athertonville, KY and
Four Roses Distillery (1962) as well.

Too bad it is in plastic. That's is a very tasty 80 proofer as is most Owensboro from that time like Private Cellar and Ezra Brooks. Very distinct profile. I have found quite a bit of those throughout Dallas over the past couple of years. I have an Owensboro and an Athertonville I believe that are a year apart on bottle dates. Both excellent.

Plastic, specifically PET, bottles were introduced in the mid 1980s but this could be as late as the mid-1990s. UDV (now Diageo) would have been using the Medley UPC and Owensboro address until 1995, when it sold the Owensboro bottling and maturation facility to Barton. I'm not aware of Barton ever having the Antique label. I'm not sure who has it now. Could be BT, which acquired that Owensboro facility from Barton a few years ago, in which case this could be very recent. Another possibility is that Seagram's unloaded Antique when it dumped all of its straight bourbons sold in the USA in, I think, 1987 or thereabouts. Medley might have picked it up and through Medley, via Glenmore, it became part of UDV, which would place this bottle between 1987 and 1995.
