Re: Current OWA vs. Current Weller 12
I like them both. The 12 is probably more interesting, as I can't buy it in IN. I have a single bottle remaining from a trip. In the states that carry it, is it available year round? For example, if I pass through Louisville, am I likely to find 12?

Feel your pain..they won't ship to Texas either. Every year or two I work in New Mexico for 1-2 months..sure is nice to get a shipment from Binny's at the motel...

Weller 12 is everywhere in Texas (Dallas). Every single store I have been in has Weller 12.
In fact I noticed the bottle changed slightly. It now has an embossed wheat icon.
The 12 seems to be mainly in the metro areas. The more rural stores in Texas don't usually seem to have it.

We took turns sharing our glasses and concluded that, compared side-by-side, the 12 YO comes out ahead for richness, mouthfeel, and overall complexity. With that said, we are still big fans of the OWA. Because there is no significant cost difference, I will continue buying both. (A recent purchase at the Liquor Barn in Lexington included another handle of OWA>)
That sounds like a great evening!
