Did you notice the bottles washing ashore in that episode had CEHT labels?

Brining turkey #1, pickling myself with some CEHT SmB. Meh. Will be moving on to something else, shortly.
I picked up another one of the older, rye heavy Vintage Bourbon 17yr bottles. I didn't care for the first one I had a year ago, but I think my expanded experience with bourbon has led me to appreciate this second bottle more. The sweet entry is satisfying, and the sip coats the inner cheeks with that spicy rye goodness.
Man do I love the many facets of bourbon.
Starting the night with some FRLESmB 2012...while it's good there is something that I find a bit off with it. It's got a slightly bitter note on the finish that I keep getting that I don't love.
Taking a vacation day tomorrow and maybe that's why everything is tasting real real good tonight...even the Saz Jr. that started the evening out. That's been followed by a 4 year Willetts from Liquor World/Toddy's-121 proof-barrel 8848 and then some Binny's Knob Creek SB Reserve-Barrel 153. I think it's time for a wheater next.
Last night I had a few very heavy pours of Benchmark SB to finish off the bottle.
I am drinking a healthy pour of this as well. Delicious! I'm not getting the bitter thing on the finish, just pure candied sweetness that lasts. Now my wife tells me I don't detect many bitter elements that she does, so maybe this bitter taste is more of a female thing Bob. :stickpoke:
Had a pour of a EC12 while cutting up bread for my Thanksgiving Day stuffing. Received a $5 coupon from HH today and will probably use it to buy another bottle of EC12.
It could be that you just have an Iron Palate! :D See you in a couple weeks buddy!
Moved onto some FR 17yr GS barrel #18 after that and IMO it's a better bourbon. It had more texture and complexity and less heat...IIRC this was a lower proof barrel though...somewhere in the 106 range. Chris can you confirm seeing as you gave me the sample?
