Starting the season with a Yuengling Oktoberfest.
Not sure how it stacks up against the others...been years since I've tried this style.

Well I'm ringing in the season in style with a Goose Island Bourbon County Stout. Damn this good, soooo good! It's sweet and malty, thick and gooey with a perfect barrel pickup of creamy vanilla and a finish that takes me to a Kentucky whiskey warehouse. Boozy in a good way at 15%, and perfectly balanced. I'm gonna need to find a BIG bourbon to follow this guy up.
Cold bottle of Great Lakes Oktoberfest to wash the dust down. Always on my pick up list when the season rolls around for it.
B
another good one from New Belgium

I had a fantastic trifecta of Oskar Blues today started off with Gordon, then had a Dale's and finished with a Deviant Dales.. 3 mighty tasty beers
Hoppin' Frog BORIS the Crusher, excellent RIS.
I keep kidding myself that beers like F-W Parabola, CW BBS and Founders KBS are just as good. But then I crack one of these open and I'm reminded that BCS really is in a class by itself. I love that they distributed so much more of this in Chicagoland this year compared to last. And I now have a four-year vertical bunkered!
A couple of Founders Centennials, super fine IPA.
Sam Adams October Fest and Goose Island Nut Brown Ale.
Dogfish Head Burton Baton.
