Anyone heard of or tried Winchester Bourbon?
Was given a bottle for Thanksgiving:cool:
Purchased at Total Wine in Phoenix, AZ.
Terrepure Spirits, Charleston SC - contract packer
Brand not in COLA
Pretty smooth, some rye flavor
Priced mid $20's
Not special to me...plenty of drinkable and even tasty bourbons in this price range...
Anyone else try this?
Any ideas about its composition?

Re: Anyone heard of or tried Winchester Bourbon?
New to me, does that label say 90 proof?
Anyone heard of or tried Winchester Bourbon?
Most likely LDI/MGP sourced bourbon.
Re: Anyone heard of or tried Winchester Bourbon?
I noticed it today and it says aged at least 2 years but I don't know anything about it.
Re: Anyone heard of or tried Winchester Bourbon?
Oh it's contract whisky certainly, and being Straight Bourbon could have been made anywhere.
Re: Anyone heard of or tried Winchester Bourbon?
Aged just long enough to be labeled Straight Bourbon, looks like the efforts were all in the packaging. What a rip off, for less than $20 I can get a bottle of fully aged Bonded Kentucky Bourbon.
Re: Anyone heard of or tried Winchester Bourbon?
Never heard of it but would love to get a bottle for a gift for a friend who owns a gun shop!

Perhaps that's the target market Thomas.
Re: Anyone heard of or tried Winchester Bourbon?
Total Wine will often sell mystery labels of cheap booze in the hopes of big margins. They are usually on the shelf at eye level so they look like they are important labels. These bottles are strictly buyer beware.

Yep, I spend a lot of time Googling while I am at Total Wine, trying to figure out what all of the random bourbons are. But I've never actually bought one of the randoms, as they have a good selection otherwise of the bigger guns (OWA, ETL, etc.), with good prices.
