Assuming this is true, I find it hard to believe it's a long term issue. It would be more like the Knob Creek "drought". The product is only aged 5.5 - 6.5 years. I would think that the increased demand was gradual, and that production increases have probably produced a decent amount of 2-4 year bourbon that is in rickhouses in Loretto as we type. I wonder if M46 has caused some of this, if MM is pulling some stock to be used for this to command a price premium.
Plenty of it around here.
I think we have heard about the MM shortage before. In the past, shortage meant that not all distributors could could get all they were willing to buy. I see MM all over the place; including Christmas gift boxes, and handles.
Working on the retail side I can confirm that there will be a shortage of MM in at least the Central KY area per the distributor. Simply not enough product to go around... or so they say.
there's been lots of UFO sightings lately, could there be a link?
Alien abductions? So that's where the Pappy went.
the aliens can have the MM
I can't think of a time over the past twenty-plus years that I didn't see it in every liquor store in MA, NH, CT, NY, MD, DC and everywhere else I go, including Bermuda. Pretty much every bar I've been to has it too.
Next up, a shortage in plastic-bottle vodka.
If they restrict my plastic bottles I shall have to file a formal protest.
