What bourbon are you drinking? Winter 12/13

I have been drinking EWB often this winter. Hard to beat the $17 per family size bottle price I get at Sam's Club. I like to drink my better selections with company and not many friends have stopped by this winter. Not sure why but maybe my wife is right about me being an ass.

EWB is my favorite value pour as well, JB --- You'd be my new best friend if you offered me some of that at a get-together, let alone 'better selections', so you can't be that big of an ass. ;)

Right now I'm about to watch Bullit --- with a big generous pour of......... wait for it..... Bulleit. Is there even a choice if you have it in the house when you pop that movie in?

Oh yes Kalessin, 114 and most everything else they've come out with in the last 40 years. I believe 114 is the pick of the OGD line, older, richer, better balanced and of course higher proof. Only a giant like Beam with it's cost efficient mass production could provide us with a 114 at a good price.

No friend, it has nothing to do with economies of scale, and nonsense like that. As I said before, the 114 is simply proof that they do love us, and want us to be happy. :D

So Beam's spreading the love eh, what a concept. Well you're never too old to learn something new.

Cracked open a WT Tradition last night. Very nice. I'll do some further tasting tonight to decide if it was worth the premium price.

Luncheon cocktail was Barton, raspberry-pomegranate liqueur and a touch of ginger ale.

Well, then, I'd agree you're on board with it.. :)

Had to bury an old friend of mine last week, so I invited a close mutual friend & his wife over for dinner the following night . We started out with some Old Weller Antique, moved to Taylor Tornado. A rib roast dinner with 2 bottles of Aussie Shiraz, Thorn Clarke Shotfire Ridge, and closed with some Van Winkle Lot B. He would have appreciated the send off.

Very sad indeed, but certainly the best reason to toast and enjoy this common bond of whiskey and wine.
