Finished a nice evening with a nice pour, FR LE small batch 12.
Only sad thing about it is realizing that this was the second to last pour in the bottle.
More in the bunker, but not coming out yet.

Going with a Four Roses single barrel this afternoon while watching hockey.

Greeting this sunny day with a cocktail of Benchmark, triiple sec, orange juice and a dash of grenadine.
Have moved onto some Maker's Mark while hoping the Wings can pull a win.

An Ale-8-One and AAA 10 year while winding down the weekend, and watching Michigan/Michigan hoops with my sunglasses on. :D
Ringing in the evening with some Old Grand Dad which I would mix with some Ale-8-One if I had any.
Old Charter -> 4RSB -> W12. Trying to decide what's next, '05 OFBB, or JPS18.
WL Weller 12. Them ER17 (first pour from a 2010. Holy moley! Incredible! Complex. Woody. Sweet. Spicy. Just great.) also sipping on a bottle of Lost Abbey Red Poppy (not a whiskey).
I usually have a beer or two and a couple of pours of bourbon a night. Spreads everything out and makes it all last longer.. Ish.
Last night, shared some OWA with a friend while the kids made s'mores at the fire-pit.
Tonight, going with some Bulleit.
I picked up a bottle of EWSB '03 yesterday. This stuff in fan-freaking-tastic. By far the best EWSB I've had since Binny's '00, which I plan to revisit soon. This '03 is also a Binny's barrel and it's labeled as #2.
My palate is pretty accustomed to the higher proof spectrum of bourbons, and though this guy is a lightweight in proof, the flavor is anything but lacking. Yes, it's a little thin, but certainly not for its proof, and certainly not for $29.
Lots of vanilla caramel supporting honeyed nuts. The grassy side of HH makes an appearance, of course, but it's very well balanced by a clear rock sugar that drives a lot of the sweetness I'm getting; it's the kind of sweetness I appreciate in a bourbon, where it's not cloying and/or overly sweet.
Chicago guys, I haven't had any other barrels from this vintage, but I recommend without hesitation you pick up a #2 if you see it in the shelf.
