Today is a Basil Hayden sort of day.
Just broke the seal and sipping on a freshly pulled-from-the-beer-fridge HH BIB 6yr. Just like candy. :yum:
Trying to warm up with some Bowman Brothers SmB and OWA. It's crazy cold out there!
TPS John J Bowman 1B #45. This is a really nice bourbon.
PHC '12 on the enormous rock.
Trying out the Smooth Ambler Yearling that I purchased on a trip to West Virginia. It's a wheated recipe aged at 1 year, 10 months. I doubt that I could pick out the fact that it's a wheater in such a young product, but I was pretty impressed overall. Young and grainy obviously, but no shortage of flavor.
Keepin' it simple tonight with some OGD 114 and BT. Two of the great bourbon bargains.
Tonight I had some of the 2012 George T Stagg. Let me tell you, Stagg Jr is already here. The '11 and '12 releases are not nearly the delicousness of the '09 and '10. The 2011 was dry and woody, the 2012 is hot and generally lacking. #Dissapointing
Started off with a pour of Weller 12. I find it has the perfect amount of sweetness and oak. Now im currently enjoying the final pour of a Rittenhouse Rye BIB. I really need to find another bottle of this soon.
Cheers!
Matt
Today I'm going with the 2012 WLarueW, neat.
Also like yesterday to thaw out, colder today than yesterday but less wind.
I changed socks at every other account today and it didn't seem to do much good, my toes felt like litttle ice cubes.
But I am home and safe unlike several folks I saw on the drive to the warehouse this morning, scary sight, upside down cars, tow-trucks, cops and ambulances' everywhere.
