Finally met Joe in person this evening. Picked up a Binny's Selection BT at South Loop. Considering going back for McKenzie by week's end. Tasted the bourbon and enjoyed it, need to try the rye.
Lucky you! I was booked up with family all weekend, or I would have tried to go myself...
Glad to see an SB.com member likes the L&K JRPS 18 y.o., now I can start saving up for a bottle to try it myself. I already like the L&K ETL, and now I'll make a point of picking up the Bernheim, too!
Well it wasn't today, but a couple weeks ago with the late release of Pappy here in NJ because of the hurricane I went around a couple of counties and picked up 5 bottles of PVW 20yo, 2-15yo, 1-23yo. 1-12yo, and 1-10yo ORVW. I just hit it right within a couple of days of deliveries, I'll probably never get that lucky again!
Purchased a mystery bottle today (among other things) of straight whisky for VBT 436 and while updating my tasting notes realized it was very nice.
Heaven Hill BiB and Old Forester Signature.
I bought a bottle of Makers mistake for $5 from K&L.
I approve. Make sure you keep it for the historical record.
Today I stocked up on some bottom shelf and picked up some candidates for an upcoming tasting I'm putting together.
