No Christmas bottles for me. :(
750ml Four Roses Small Batch (a preferred whiskey by me)
4 rocks glasses
2 crystal tumblers
Also (not bourbon, but bourbon related) a 6-pack of Woodchuck hard cider Barrel Reserve (aged in used bourbon barrels)
then I bought myself some Glencairn glasses and a copita glass.
Yowza! A buddy just returned from visiting in-laws in the Motherland, and dropped off a AAA 10 yr for me for Christmas. :woohoo:
Got a bottle of James E. Pepper 15 year bourbon. Pretty excited as I'd never seen it before. My guess is it is probably juice from LDI, but being a newb I'm excited whenever my palate gets exposure to anything more aged than a standard bottle of BT.
Didn't receive any bourbon, but I did pick up a bottle of Larceny to see what all the hype is about.
Wild Turkey 101 (old label) anyone else notice a difference between the new/old label? I find the old label to have less burn, more of a warming feeling, with more caramel/vanilla then the new label. It might be mental but I feel there is just something about it, Id buy the old label over the new anyday.
I was also told that I would be recieving my real bourbon gift at tonights UFC fight at the brothers house..... We will see.
I tended bar in the Chicago area from 1978 to 1981 and a shot of Malort was de rigeur for anybody's first legal night of drinking (19 then). Also had two 70 plus year old guys, still working as tool and die makers, who regularly drank 2 shots a night with shorty Old Styles, after they got off their 2 PM to 10 PM shift...so we went through about 2 bottles a week.
