Sam Adams New Albion Ale. I mentally categorize the beers I drink, and one of those is, a beer my dad would have liked. This would be one of those. I doubt he had this when it was being made by NABC, which is too bad. Would have been right up his alley.
Really thrilled to have found an English classic, Timothy Taylor Landlord Pale Ale, sitting on the shelf. Never seen it before in America, so I grabbed all six bottles and cracked one as soon as I got home. Subtle but lovely stuff and a champion beer for good reason. So when is Theakston's Old Peculier going to resurface here in the USA?
Had a business trip to Anaheim CA a couple of weeks ago and I decided to drag Dawn along to see the sites the weekend prior. We decided to go to the San Diego Zoo Saturday morning then hit Stone on the way back to Anaheim. Finished our Zoo adventure early and we were hungry so we decided that there had to be a brew pub nearby where we could have a beer and get a bite to eat..and there was a pub just a mile or so from the zoo. Hillcrest Brewery. After a couple of really nice beers and some good food I thought I'd Google the brand and see if perhaps they distributed in Indiana. Go ahead, Google Hillcrest Brewery then come back to the tread. Yep, I was surprised. Dawn & I had a good laugh and moved on to Mission brewery in downtown San Diego. Had one of my favorite beers ever...Shipwreck Double IPA.

Cracked open a Modelo Especial. Nothing special but I hadn't ever had it before. Bought it as part of a mix-your-own 6-pack at the grocery. Not bad stuff. Not great. But certainly better than Corona Extra, imho.
