Praise be to Mr Rutledge!
Wow! Just opened my bottle of 4R Mariage '08, and man have mercy! Talk about floral! Beautiful bouqet on the nose and the palate. Just wonderful. I swear as it sits in the glass the aroma and taste just gets better. I have always considered the bottle of Pappy23yo I once had years back was the best bourbon I've ever had, and still do, but this, this, is now the 2nd! I sprang for this because of all the peer pressure on here (at least that's what I told the wife), but secretly I thank you guys. What a find and what a buy!
Cheers to all! A toast!

The man just may know a thing or two about bourbon.
Re: Praise be to Mr Rutledge!
I really do feel bad drinking all of this alone.....
Re: Praise be to Mr Rutledge!
I can be where you are in about 3 hours. Is there gonna be any left?
Re: Praise be to Mr Rutledge!
3 hours? Dude, I slammed the whole bottle in one shot! It was gooooooood.
Well okay, I had 1 neat of that as well as an Angel's Envy. A nice shot of Maker's. A Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale. And 2 moonshine cherries for kicks. An Oliva cigar, and God knows what next....... Oh, and a Lime-a-rita. It's a party!
Re: Praise be to Mr Rutledge!
i recently got my mellow moments membership. opening it, i felt like i was reenacting that scene from a Christmas story with the little orphan annie decoder ring. except this time the message was not "be sure to drink your ovaltine" but "be sure to drink your bourbon." i will Mr. Rutledge, i will

Hear hear on these good sentiments of Mr Rutledge!!
There have been many a time I felt that Mr Rutledge was a God after drinking his many whiskey variations and there were times when I thought the whiskey was so good he must be the Devil instead.
Re: Praise be to Mr Rutledge!
4 Roses is rapidly beginning to be my favorite bourbon.
Re: Praise be to Mr Rutledge!
I greatly enjoy the diversity of the product line, which one of the ten recipes do I want to drink today or different expressions for that matter.I was not the biggest FR fan a few years ago,but it has grown to be one of my top choices currently.I look forward to the variations of the LE's each and every year and if the '12 SmB is any clue to what we have to look forward to for the LE's in '13 then we are in for one hell of a treat!

Gotta say, I may be coming around to this conclusion as well. Yellow and Small Batch have their place, but the Single Barrel (basic and special selections), and the Limited Editions, are just fantastic. My first Single Barrel was a bit disappointing, but finding a delicious batch on my next try turned me around quickly. I've been reaching for my 2011 LE Small Batch frequently.
It's also been fun introducing FR to a bunch of my friends that are not familiar with FR. Doesn't take long to win them over.
Major kudos to Mr. Rutledge!
