Got a Flask?

I bought one of these gift packs about a month ago; it was indeed the same price as the bottle of JB Black on the shelf, which I was wanting to try anyway, so I opted for the free flask.

I haven't used it yet, and am unsure when or where I would actually have occasion to. But it seems like a nice, sturdy little unit. It has a black leatherette (vynil?) cover with a subtle JB logo on it, and is stamped on the bottom: STAINLESS STEEL CHINA.

Yesterday I emailed the proprietor, Nordale Services , and described my problem. Today, Sunday, I received an email to tell me that they will send out a replacement first thing Monday morning.

If the replacement (3.5 oz. version) arrives as promised and works as well as the 2.5 oz. version has, then these flasks are well worth the low cost.

Both of these tiny flasks are rather like a liquor-carrying equivalent of a Derringer. Given a choice between capability and concealability, sometimes one must opt for the latter. However, performance must be unerring, regardless of capacity or caliber.

My left leg is stronger than my right, after years of abusing my right knee and ankle. I sport the flask on the left without a noticable limp. I also find that I'm the only guy who goes throught the security gate three times with that "Search Me Please" look on my face. If you look like a Sex Crimes Registry candidate begging to be touched, they won't come near ya. Its the anxious looking ones they grab.

The replacement 3.5 oz. flask arrived promptly. I have used it several times now.

It, too, has a cap-retainer that seems to have the wrong geometry. I have found that if I stop tightening it at the first point of resistance, it will leak slightly. If I continue to tighten, the resistance decreases, allowing another half-turn. At that point the leak stops.

With repeated use I have found that the initial point of resistance is becoming less -- either that or the exercise is causing the strength in my thumb and forefinger to increase.

In any case, this flask is serviceable, although not as well designed as the 2.5 oz model, which seals easily and securely.

Based on this one transaction I would say that Nordale is a trustworthy seller.
