I have a record of every bottle of fine spirits I've purchased since August, 2002. In that time, I bought Van Winkle Family Reserve Rye on six different occasions, at the following prices.
8/2002 23.99
3/2003 23.99
6/2003 29.99
11/2003 29.99
4/2004 25.99
11/2006 36.99
$39.99 here with the distribution of the H series. It had been $29.99 (or thereabouts) forever before that.
It was 34.99 here, but when I went to purchase it the price jumped to 44.99. :smiley_acbt:
$32.12 out the door at the store I buy it at. 30 miles away though so gas ups the price I guess.
I purchased a bottle in March 2005 in Kentucky and it was 26.99. It seems all Van Winkle bottles have recently increased at a brisk pace!

Good God, Chuck! You were buying a bottle every 3-6 months, and then a sudden and terrible gap of 2 1/2 years with no Van Winkle rye purchase? What happened?? Why the long, brutal "rye-less dark ages"?Quote:

Seven years ago, £1 was about $1.60.
