Why do Manhattans have to be so frickin' great?
Just finished off a bottle of WT Rye with the following:
2.5 oz. rye
.5 oz. sweet vermouth
2 dashes angostura bitters
Good thing I limit myself to weekends for making Manhattans, because if I had one every night, I'd keep going w/2 or 3 more. In other words, I'm a Wednesday night Manhattan away from being a full-blown alcoholic.
Not that there's anything wrong with that...;)

A good rule is to limit yourself to days of the week that end in "Y"
Re: Why do Manhattans have to be so frickin' great?
Lately, I've been drinking most of my whiskey neat, for precisely that reason - it's way too easy to overindulge when you're mixing. :falling:
Of course, tonight isn't a good night for a cold drink here, what with the near-blizzard conditions and all.

Would you believe I've never had a Manhattan.
Re: Why do Manhattans have to be so frickin' great?
Yep, 'cause neither have I.
