Does your dog like whiskey?

I have a greyhound and he will "drink" off my fingers - beer, bourbon, scotch, & brandy. He will sometime "nudge" my hand while I'm hold a glass. This dog has had ER 10y:bowdown: !! How many sad men & women have never tasted such tectar! Our cat would pull away from any distilled spirits as I thought any animal would. Any similar experiences?
I must tell the truth and let you know that before I ever knew he would do this, and before I found this web site, I named my beloved greyhound WHISKEY.

My four year old Cocker Spaniel, Duke will lick droplet after droplet of Redbreast from my finger. To the point of intoxication if I let him. He won't drink neat from a glass (alcohol fumes burn his nose, I suspect) He will also drink or I should say, lick the Ice cubes in a glass of JD and Coke. In fact you have to be careful where you set the glass because if you're not watching he will drink more than what is healthful! I'm not sure how dogs metabolize alcohol but I've never let him have more than a 'taste'.

Before my (ex) wife left me and took her, I had a Samoyed who absolutely loved bourbon on ice! .. Yeah I know a country song in the making... She'd litteraly try to crawl up my chest and arms to get to it. If left the glass on the coffee table unattened for long my bourbon would be gone and Star (the dog) would be walking crooked.

My lab loves beer but can't even stand the smell of bourbon or scotch. She seems to be partial to Sierra Nevada....hmmm a Bigfoot sounds good right about now.

I haven't bought Jim Beam White in almost 15 years, and I'm not about to let my dog try anything else...

Have a cat that enjoys a dry Beefeater Martini but the Lab has yet to acquire a taste for bourbon. For the record I have encouraged neither.

Gizmo, Actually he is Darth Gizmo but Gizmo for short a cute little Shitzu, Loves beer and also Bourbon, showing a preference for the good stuff.

Ouch, dude, that's sad. That's the kind of thing a fella might say while sitting on a bar stool next to me and I'd buy him a double of whatever he's drinking. Here have a virtual drink on me.
