Memories of Double Eagle pipe smoke
My deceased father used to smoke a pipe...and I have fond memories of that wonderful aroma...I recall the brand he picked up most often was Double Eagle...probably due to price and flavor. I found this website from the mfg. ..Sterling Tobacco Company:
http://www.sterlingtobaccoco.com/sterling.html
"Double Eagle (Light Aromatic) Our most popular light aromatic. Delightfully mild and cool with an aroma that pleases everyone. This blend is 100% plug cut burleys."
Are there any pipe smokers familiar with this mix?
Re: Memories of Double Eagle pipe smoke
I've not had it, but Burleys are notoriously nutty and are often used for blending with Virginias to prevent "tongue bite," as they are a mild smoke. I like a healthy percentage of Burley in my blends, as it brings out fruity and nutty components of whiskey. I have never, however, smoked a 100% Burley tobacco.
