PVW Lot B vs WLW 12yr vs Anitque 107

Well I really need to try this experiment blind but for tonight I started with Lot B then went down the row. And to be honest I really really like them all. They are all differnt similiar. I might give the slight edge to the WLW 12yr if I had to pick a winner but man its tough. I am a little surprised that the lot B isn't the clear fav for the price and all the hoopla. This is my first lot B so maybe I got a off bottle. It happens right. Anyways I'm having fun sippin whiskey and listening to classic rock, Jazz and blues on Sunday night. Life is good. Cheers all.

I have yet to have cracked my Weller 12yr, but the Lot B I have is close to the 20 yr PVW on my shelf.... I have been fortunate on the Lot Bs... and the Antique 107 is not in the same family...

With that review on the 12 yr... I might have to open it up tonight :p

I enjoy a mix on the Lot B with an upgrade on the 107 to ORVW I prefer 1/3 Lot B to 2/3 ORVW 107. I concur on the Antique being out of class in the group, but I still like it alot.

I would also choose Weller 12yr over Lot B, esp. for the price. Similarly, I'd also choose ORVW 10/107 over Lot B as well.

Both are very good... but my vote goes to Lot B for nuance and character (whatever the hell that means....).

I put them in the order as asked.... Lot B > 12 yr > Antique

yeah, that's how I'd align them.

I must have just picked up a flat bottle of the lot B then. It not that it is bad it is more like just plain boring. This is a surprise to me because anything Van Winkle is amazing. VWFRR 13 is my favorite whiskey. And the lot B is highly regarded. The only reason I did not include ORVW 107 here is because it is hard to find. Here today gone tomorrow.

I have to admit that my recent tastings of Lot B seem to be along the lines of boring. The whisky seems to have lost some of the depth that attracted it to me in the first place. I will be leaving it alone, it could very well be me.

The Weller 12 is right by me...enjoy it immensely.

I assume we're talking about the BTAC WLW, not Old Weller 12yo?

Not that it matters, because I can't get either one here.

As for VW Lot B vs Old Weller 7/107, for me the VW has a slight edge. However, local prices are $40 for the VW and $20 for the Weller, so from a QPR standpoint the Weller blows away the VW.
