Re: What Wee Dram are you enjoying now?
Had two drams of Glenmorangie LaSanta to finish the bottle. While I enjoy other sherry cask scotches from different makers, this one was a big disappointment. The other "flavored" cask infused whiskeys by Glenmorangie are very enjoyable and the "original" is quite good. This one just misses big time. Its like the flavors are fighting one another, no harmony. Finished the night with a little HP 12yr. Still one of the best SM out there.

I couldn't agree more. I did an "Orkney night" last night, with two pours of Scapa 14 before switching over to HP 12 and a pour of HP 18 for the grand finale. The Scapa and HP couldn't be more different but shouldn't really be compared with one another, as it would be like comparing apples to oranges. Scapa 14 lives up to the tasting notes on the bottle's label: smooth, sweet, heathery and honeyed, while the HP 12 has the peat and smoke in perfect balance. Both great but in entirely different ways.

Sipping on a little Oban 14 right now.

Having a nice dram of Ardmore Traditional Cask. This is one of my favorite whiskies, and, IMO, one of the best values in single malt Scotch whisky. This whisky holds it's own with some of the more expensive whiskies out there.

Glenfiddich 12 yr. Not a real serious dram, not by malt maniac standards, but I'm enjoying it. Lots of pear on the nose and the palete...........

I get more apple than pear from that whisky. Also some pine notes and musty wood. Quite a bit going on.

Was over at a neighbors house last night hanging out. He broke out a bottle of Chivas Regal 12 and Glenfiddich 12. I enjoyed both. And... Whisky just seems to taste so much better when it is free.
