Re: What Wee Dram are you enjoying now?
Thoroughly enjoyed my first few pours of Ardmore Traditional Cask. I noticed a significant price drop (from $40 to $30!) at my local liquor store and finally pulled the trigger. What a delightful surprise! The peat is heftier than I expected and everything is quite well-balanced. Next to Yamazaki 12, this could become my favorite "budget" single malt if the price remains as low as I found it.

I was at Julio's on Monday night for the first time. We tried Lochside (super), Imperial Port Wood (too sweet) and Ben Nevis 12yr NC2 (wierd nose, like tequila).
Then last night I had some Dalmore Cigar Malt at the Westin in Providence, RI. You could taste some really good structured malt, but it was buried in a lot of sweetness from the sherry.

Tonight it was Talisker 10 yr, Black Bottle 10 yr (I liked this very much), and Ardmore Traditional cask.

That is a very nice price indeed. I like the Ardmore, it has a lot of bourbon notes and is very well priced. I pay a little over $40 though...

Hardy Cask, eh? You been hoarding that or something? Or did they make more of it in recently? I had a bottle a few years back (single cask version). Interesting stuff. Very closed until you add some water and then BOOM, fruit and spice exploding everywhere.

Laphroaig Original Cask Strength (55.7%) cut with a splash of water.
